For an inn literally opening on to the train tracks, this is an amazing Oasis and I highly recommend it. Our room was clean, well appointed with a fridge and safe and glorious large windows and two free small bottles of water provided daily, we did choose a room back from the station and it was quiet…our friends overlooked the...

Thank you so much for your wonderfully descriptive review! We apologize for the frustration with email communications, as this is a process we are actively working to improve. My wife and I planned to stay a day or two and remained for a week. The rooms are beautiful. The food, fresh from the hotel's organic garden, is delicious. The views of the Ollantaytambo ruins and the surrounding mountains were spectacular. The walks around the sacred valley, recommended by staff, were terrific. Beautiful area. Great food. Excellent service!

We stayed at the Albergue for 6 nights and couldn't have been happier. The rooms are lovely. Simple elegance describes them best. Even though right next to the train station they were very, very quiet. The restaurant is equally wonderful. Great dishes made with the freshest ingredients. We enjoyed the gardens and a tour of their organic farm.

I stayed here a few nights in December 2009. I loved ever detail of this delightful hotel. The staff is wonderful and the restaurant was the perfect place to eat and relax after a long day of hiking. I strongly recommend this place for individuals and couples.

I am very impressed with El Albergue. The location is fantastic, the grounds are breathtaking, and all of the staff was very helpful. My stay in the superior balcony was unfortunately brief, and I wish I had planned a night after Machu Picchu, rather than before. Alas, I will have to return! Do yourself a favor and plan better than...

Being a former railway station building it's obviously right next to the tracks. This makes access a bit inconvenient if arriving by car as there's a bit of a walk and the nearby streets are always busy, making parking difficult. As it is on the main line to Aguas Callientes the trains start early - very early (around 04.30) and...

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in! It is in the station at Ollantaytambo where you catch the train to Machu Picchu. How convenient is that! The bedrooms are huge and set back from the track with great views down the Urubamba valley. They have their own Huerta and cook their own produce in the restaurant....

We recently visited Peru, and April 2015. We were lucky enough to spend a night in this charming rustic hotel. It had beautiful gardens, and an amazing restaurant ( with veggies produced in their own farm). The rooms were more than adequate and the beds were very comfortable. We left here and went on a three-day backpacking track into the...

We stayed 3 nights in April, 2015, before & after our trip to Machu Picchu. What a wonderful place!! The rooms are spacious and quaint, while still having any modern convenience we needed. Everyone on staff was so eager to take good care of us and give us anything we wanted. They even made a special tea for me when...

We spent a couple of nights here as we acclimated to the high altitude before our trek to Machu Picchu. Lovely surroundings, excellent meals prepared with products from their own organic farm [which you can visit], tasty Pisco sours, comfortable beds and HOT solar heated showers. The Inca ruins are worth the visit as well. We hired a guide at...
