If you are taking a train to or from Ollantaytambo station and need to stay overnight this is just about the most convenient place as it is literally on the station platform. The rooms are pleasant and the restaurant is very good. Beware, the trains start blowing their horns from about 05.30 in the morning and we were less than...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 2 February 2017

A bit of a later review was there in December 2014, but never too late, this place is unforgetable. When you first get off the train it looks like you're about to enter the station, that really worried me - and then it is a restaurant, then you go through the garden full of flowers and roses and hummingbirds. I...

We stayed at El Abergue for only one evening on our honeymoon to Machu Picchu and truly wish we had more time to enjoy. We arrived mid-afternoon from Cusco and were greeted by English-speaking staff. We had a lovely private room in a two story cottage. It was pretty cold but there was a portable heater and plenty of blankets...

El Albergue is a friendly hotel for travellers in Sacred Valley. It's right on the station so handy for catching the train to Machu Picchu. The rooms are very clean with crisp linen. The bathrooms are a bit small and the beds are a on the firm side and also only double. It has a lovely restaurant and on check...

I am surprised how positive the reviews are for this hotel. The reason I am giving it this rating is mostly because of our room assignment. Some of the good things first: The best part of this hotel is the location. It is right at the train station so if you have an early train to catch to Manchu Picchu...

We were fortunate enough to stay a night at El Albergue en route to Machu Picchu but immediately upon arrival I already wished we had more time to spend there. We arrived in time for the Panchamanca lunch which is truly special - fresh vegetables from their farm along with chicken, lamb and pork buried and cooked on hot stones....

We spent two nights here and wish we could have spent more. Lovely gardens, a great bar and fabulous restaurant . It is a perfect location for getting trains to/from Machu Picchu and only 10 mins walk from the village centre.

This place is like a little piece of heaven. The gardens are amazing. The food is delicious and the people that work there are super nice. They gave us each a pair of bulls for good luck! The hotel is located right next to the train station for Machu Piccu.

After flying all day, then a long taxi ride from Cusco (2hours - 110 sols) this interesting, comfortable and welcoming hotel on the Ollantaytambo railway platform was heaven sent. The restaurant and lobby front onto the platform and behind are a number of structures with rooms around gardens. Our room was large and comfortable and we slept soundly... no noise...

Ok- we arrived at 20.30 . Car stopped at the busy train ticketing area and we walked down to the train station pulling out bags through the vendors and tons of people. Was a bit shocking- our driver took us through the entrance to the train station where I could finally see the sign for the hotel. The entrance is...
