I stayed at this hotel overnight last week before heading out to Machu Picchu the next day. It's in a central location, just down the road from the main square (a few minutes) and about a 10 minute walk to the train station. The room was large with a comfy bed, warm enough, a small balcony with a pretty view...

We loved this little hotel right in Ollantaytambo and the ease of seeing sights such as ruins right in Ollantaytambo, the Sacred Valley and the Pisac Market. Our room was delightful with a balcony opening to the stream below; the balcony table even had fresh flowers. Very comfortable room, excellent staff, nice breakfast - great stopping place for travelers.

Nice small hotel, convenient to everywhere, clean, let us store our bags for our MP trip, WIFI is iffy everywhere in Peru, We had sufficient hot water, The breakfast was a little skimpy, but across Peru, that seems to be relative to the size of the hotel and cost of the room. We would stay here again.

We stopped in Ollantaytambo the day before our stay there to catch the train to Machu Picchu. We were way overpacked for the one night in Aquas Callientes, so when we asked Hotel Sol to hold one bag for us until the next night they were happy to help. This is a darling village, and Hotel Sol is in a...

Very cute and comfortable hotel, the room was cozy, the shower had no hot water and the wifi did not reach the room. For wi-fi, I had to be in the hotel lobby, which was nice because they provide unlimited hot tea (including coca tea). Right across the hotel there are a couple of restaurants and the train to Macchu...

We spent one night in hotel Sol each side of our visit to Machu Picchu. The room was basic, bed comfortable and reasonably clean. Our room had a view of the Inca ruins which we visited during the morning before catching the train to Aguascalientes at lunchtime. Breakfast was fine with fresh cooked eggs on request. Plenty of dining options...

I highly recommend Hotel Sol a beautiful quaint hotel in the middle of the gorgeous town of Ollytaytambo. Front the moment we walked in, the lovely Wilbur who spoke such good English made us feel so welcome and could not do enough for us. We had room 204 a beautiful comfortable room with a nice bed. The wifi is patchy...

Ollantaytambo is a fun place to visit en route to Machu Pichu. Hotel Sol is a place to stay before you take the train. Boutique hotel it is not. Be very clear on that fact! Beds were bad, bathroom was modern in that it had running water, but barely warm in the early chilly morning of the high Andes. The...

This hotel wasn't planned, but was a Godsend as a place to stay between Cusco and MP to get out of Cusco before farmers protests. Their service was fine, we stayed only one night. So we didn't have occasion to really experience it. The rooms were fairly clean, but overwhelmed with the smell of toilet bowl cleaner and chemicals. That...

This hotel just barely makes 3 dots for me. On the plus side, the location, half-way between the ruins (2 blocks) and main square (2 blocks), and up the river from the train station (10+ minute walk down, cheap tuk-tuk ride up), is ideal. The property is also kept clean and the bright painting makes it visually appealing. Rooms overlooking...
