Stayed one night during our trip to macchu picchu. The hotel is truly beautiful. Nice rooms, drinks and everything included, wonderful meals. If you have time, do the Pisco tasting at the bar in the evening. The barkeeper is amazing! Staff was superfriendly and tried to satisfy us in every possible way. Would definitely come back!

Great buffet. Great service. Right at the entrance to Machu Picchu.Go to Machu first thing in the morning then take a midday break with a big meal at this buffet. Great variety with local fare as well as American/other specialties. From salads to main courses and desserts, all are covered.

Extensive lunch buffet a bit of a 'food court' feeling but still ... there were many dishes available to suit any taste. I highly recommend going into MP before, have a leisurely lunch (as far as possible) and then go back for an afternoon walk around MP.

I agree with what others have written. It is special to stay here for one night. The reasons are two-fold. First, after 3 or 4pm, most other tourists have left for the day, taking the bus back down to Aquas Clients. So my wife and I went back out at this time and were able to explore Machu Picchu almost...

Machu Pichu is a dream and the moment we got off the bus that took us to top, the Sanctuary Lodge steps started. You cannot get a better location for the hotel and it is 50 m from the entrance. The rooms, though small, are wonderfully furnished and every small amenity taken care of. We were on full board. The...

As many have already remarked, the main benefit of Sanctuary Lodge is its location at the gates of Machu Pichuu. While the setting is lovely, the rooms are small and the food is hit or miss (mainly miss, in my opinion, although it is presented nicely). We opted for a Suite which consisted of a bedroom with King bed and...

Great location obviously, surprisingly few people seem to truly take advantage of it and enter Machu Picchu when it opens at 6. You absolutely should, staff will gladly serve you breakfast at 5.30 and then again on your return a few hours later. Queues for buses from the town below are apparently long, so especially if you've had a longer...

Clearly the attraction here is the proximity to the ruins of the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. The hotel is very good but maybe the poorest Belmont I have ever stayed in. Reason might be the missing competition since this hotel is the only one next to the Machu Picchu entrance. However, the food and drinks are very good...

Stayed during our visit to Machu Picchu. Location is obviously special, but the hotel is very dated/old. Stayed at the Belmont (same owners)hotel in Lima, which is new and remodeled, but this needs serious work. Had dinner. The Foi Gras I sent back. Was undercooked. The sea bass (Corvina) was okay, steak kids good, risotto was good. The room is...

Being at over 8000 feet above sea level, in a very remote area, the hotel meets all the expectations of any 4 or 5 star hotel. One takes a public bus from the local town for a 20-30 minute very winding road along a mountain, and when you get there it is such a pleasant surprise to see this great...
