First arrived in Lima and La Castellana was my first stop. Placed here by our tour company. The hotel is simple. Single beds in our rooms. Bathrooms were fine Nothing special. Pros: > friendly staff. Some spoke English. Good advice on where to tour around > fine breakfast included. Eggs, toast, yogurt, fruit, tea/coffee > good location Cons: > single...

The hotel is quite dated and unfortunately in the rooms there is a bad smell of sewage . We stayed in two different rooms 1 at the beginning of the tour and one right at the end and unfortunately they both had the same problem. Also the second room we had was very dark and claustrophobic there was only a...

We stayed several nights at this hotel prior to our hiking trip to Machu-Picchu (all through g-adventure). Hotel is clean, but a bit dated, very friendly and helpful personnel. Breakfast (included) is somewhat limited, but you can order additional food. Coffee is excellent. Location is good for exploring Miraflores region in Lima. Many good restaurants are close by (walking distance)...

The location of this quaint hotel is excellent. I stayed there before and after the inca trail. Completely different rooms and experiences. The first was loud, cramped and kind of dinghy. The second, 440 was clean, great bathroom and overlooked courtyard. Breakfast is good The staff are very very friendly, like to accomodate and help where they can.

From the outside it looks like a charming building but inside its so incredibly dated and needs a refresh desperately. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, luckily having just completed the inca trail it was a luxury to have the beds at all. Decor was 70s/80s at the most recent and everything weas a bit dusty and worn. the plug...

The rooms were simple, but comfortable. We stayed at this hotel as part of our G Adventures tour. The water temperature and pressure in the bathrooms were good, no issues there. The beds were also comfortable, and additional bedding is available...you just have to ask the front desk. The room itself was clean. The walls are pretty thin so you...

Let's face it - it's a budget hotel, so don't expect too much. We stayed there as part of our G adventures tour. Rooms were ok, not big, a bit dated. There was mould in one of the rooms we stayed in. Lima is a humid city so the rooms feel damp (there's no air-conditioning but it wasn't a problem...

I can't think of anything good to say about the place. We arrived as part of a G Adventures tour and couldn't belive they actually book this place for their customers. Room was dirty, cramped and had paper thin walls so sleep was almost impossible. We had pre paid for two additional nights at the same hotel on our return...

My son and I stayed at La Castellana at the beginning and the very end of our three week stay in Peru - a trip organised by Intrepid. The first room we had can only be described as brown.
