I had the Best Pisco Sour and Ceviche in the World. Also unbelievable friendly attentive service. I would have lunch here every day. Check out the Lomo Saltado!! The decor and the view on the historical Center of the city of Lima is very pleasing. I warmly recommend that place. It is a little bit pricy but it worth it!!

They prepare one of the better pisco sour in Lima. The hotel has a lot of history behind its walls. Many international famous people checked in there. It is very elegant. Is located in the center of Lima, near to the Main Square, Governance Palace and Cathedral.

I stayed in this hotel in Lima for a day off at the end of a business trip. It is very centrally located in Lima's old city center. Let's start with a caveat: if you like to stay in a place surrounded by European and North American tourists sipping a low quality pisco sour while collectively reading the Lonely Planet...

Employee owned. Good service. Very elegant/vintage. Like stepping into the 1920s. Very clean although a bit aging. Large rooms. Beware, beds are very firm and could prove uncomfortable for many. Excellent view of Plaza San Martin from a window or balcony but with the view comes some street noise. Within walking distance of shopping, banking, dining, etc. Very nice bar...

The finest hotel in Lima, Peru, enjoyed by dignitaries and those seeking an extraordinary hotel experience! Gran Hotel Bolivar is a hotel that has stepped out of another era. Large lobbies, heavy rugs from the near East, pillars, murals, European cuisine, and white glove service. Stepping outside the hotel one notes that the Gran Hotel Bolivar has been located in...

We liked being on Plaza San Martin and being just a few blocks from Plaza Mayor. It was a perfect location for exploring the historic district on foot. As many other reviewers have noted, the rooms are large but dated. Not everything functions perfectly. But this is what we expected when we chose this hotel.

By the time you are entering Hotel Bolivar, you can immediate tell that this was an exclusive one several years ago. The lobby and the surrounding rooms remind an aristocrat 5star hotel. Ofcourse it is no more and you will realize that by entering the rooms. I dont know why this hotel was left behind, maybe bad management or financial...

My daughter and I recently went to Lima to see museums and other cultural sites.I found the Gran Bolivar Hotel on line and was immediately impressed that it was where we should stay. The hotel was built in 1924 and was conceived from a european tradition of the Grand hotels to be found in every Capital city. The public areas are beautiful...

The best hotel in Lima when it was built - but that was over 90 years ago! Large rooms with great proportions, some superb public areas, and caring staff. But the location downtown, although now improving, is no longer the best in Lima and the 'best' hotels and residential areas are now away to the south. So there hasn't been...

We booked Gran Hotel Bolivar for a night so that we would be within walking distance of the historic sights....that's about all that was really great about this place, the location. The entire hotel looks like it hasn't been updated since 1945. Our room faced the Plaza and there were cabs honking all night and then loud music started up...
