My wife, who is Peruvian, immediately took a dislike to the owner/host, whose concept of customer experience is from a bygone age. It seemed we were paying for him to visit his mountain lodge, do a bit of business, repair his house etc. His noble assistant, in the supporting role of Sancho Panza, provided wholesome enough cooking which wwould have been fine if we were at 4000m and 20km from civilisation. The rather good restaurant over the road, however, rather diminished the attraction. So yes, visit Yauyos and its fabulous countryside but avoid this place
