I was Sexualy assaulted by one of the cleaners at bora hotel. He grabed by penis firmly and pulled it, I imidietly jumped back, and singled that this was not OK. then he started sucking he's finger and gesturing that we should have sex. I was so uncomfortable that I ran down to my room, and meanwhile I could hear him following me. This is pattern that keeps happening. Other the that. The hotel is pretty nice, good internet, ok rooms and breakfast. Good value for what your paying.
Excellent for us. We just needed place to sleep. Breakfast:local, fresh, very tasty plus delicious coffee, desserts and fruits. (Still remember taste of real! eggs...like from my grandma's farm) Room: clean, simple, silence (third floor, window on the left side of the building) hot water always, no mosquitos (even window was oppened all night) Staff: always helpful, polite, smiling, discreet. With my poor english and zero spanish, never had communicating problems (there was only one towel, I asked for a second and...they brought 4 immediately) Shuttle: pick up/drop off- on time. For SMOKERS:when it rains, there is terrace on the roof, with the city and backwaters view...you can see even Amazon river! /I smoked by the entrance door, watching exotic! for me "street life"/ Expected much less for this price- nice surprise! Thanks Bora we will be back soon.…
stayed here twice over course of 2 weeks before and after an excursion down the amazon. Stayed in 103 first night. No window outside but onto the corridor and no proper glass but a turning panel. Very loud and next to dining area so heard them dragging furniture round from 05.30. Also rained overnight on the corridor plastic roof which felt like being inside a maraca for several hours. Room air con was good but a little too cool and you are only provided with a sheet. No hot water in the shower. Stayed in room 503 on second stay - up approx 10 flights stairs and no lift however much nicer room, hot water in shower but stayed on a saturday night and again limited in the window provision - it was VERY loud outside so had to decide between street noise or loud air con. Breakfast is ok and fairly varied. WIFI was very poor on the first floor but fine throughout the rest. We asked for a taxi for 8 back to the airport at 6.30am sunday morning. Unfortunately this wasn't booked despite being confirmed twice the day before. Eventually managed to find us a barely roadworthy taxi for 7 people which we had to squeeze into with our luggage on the roof which then fell off on the way to the airport. Not ideal.…
As someone who is a frequent business and leisure traveler over the past 30 years I've never had an experience so horrible than in this situation with the Bora Hotel. Their driver picked us up from the airport and then delivered us to a completely different hotel with no explanation or knowledge of why we're being brought to this different hotel. Further, the changed hotel staff spoke no English and could not explain why we were punted from the Bora. There was continued confusion since we booked months ago and paid in advance but the new hotel needed us to pay....cash only. We tried to talk to the Bora staff on the phone that night which was impossible as they could not explain the situation either. This is a clear bait and switch situation where the Bora books rooms at a great rate and then sell your rooms to another hotel then only takes cash. Avoid this property at costs! Also, Bora Hotel Iquitos is a big fat zero!…
Well I have to agree with Kayla K who wrote a review here. We actually got the same room 105.However I am a little more forgiving as there were a few positives. Rosa's beautiful manner pulled it up from a poor to an average. We were guaranteed we would have a pick up from the airport and this was included in the price. Of course no pick up and we had to pay for a taxi. Bora refused to reimburse. There was no hot water in the shower, something I got used to during my South America tour There was a noise in the room that went all night. The stairs to the room had very uneven rises. The wi fi dropped in and out. But Rosa who runs the whole show tried her best to make us feel comfortable. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was very good. Bora is well situated to the Amazon and down town Iquitos Well priced I would stay here again.…
