This is a very noisy party hotel. They have a big stage next to the hotel rooms and the music booms the whole night. So don't expect to sleep until 3 a.m.! Even with earplugs or headphones it is impossible to sleep. We tried to call the reception many times during the night to ask when the music will stop. They just ignored our calls and we never reached somebody. So this was really the worst hotel I've ever been!
The hotel provides free pick up services from the airport and is about 15 to 20 minutes away, so no rush to get there on time for your check out time. The room is small and quaint and the bed is comfortable enough...although after 12+ hours travelling through 3 airports you might find the floor comfortable too. The actual hotel does not look much like the photos online. There is no "mini bar", just an empty min fridge. The food is good at the restaurant however, but there were no indications in the room if you could get room service. I didn't find the facilities run down. The bathrooms worked (although the toilet did not have the strongest flush), there was electricity and AC in the rooms and the bathroom, the doors locked, the pool was clean and many of the other guests used it. It was a good location for an away conference as there were conference facilities also and the restaurant catered for main meals and snacks for the conference as well. The biggest downfall though was the terrible WiFi. You could only get WiFi in a few locations in the lobby and the room and only in those spots. Overall though the stay was short so it was not too bad. Although the hotel is on the outskirts of the city in a run down neighborhood, it isn't too far a ride to get to the main square and the city is one of the safest in Peru.…
We needed a cheap hotel for one night while we waited for our transfer into the jungle. The hotel is average and you get what you pay for. The night we arrived they had a halloween party going on which was right under our room so we requested to move and they moved us away from the party straight away. The perk of the hotel is they have a free transfer which is handy if you are eating in late and do not want to be haggling with taxis.
This Hotel is verging on the "Terrible"! Its rooms are old and starting to decay, the bed was like sleeping on a rock, hard small and very uncomfortable. The Hotel is located in a down right scary area of the city, it the middle nowhere with no amenities around it for miles! There was nothing in the mini bar, you need to pre-order if you want that service. There was no food available and the restaurant on site no longer operates at all, so there is no way to get any food here!! We did not feel secure in our rooms even with the door locked! Its nothing like the pictures on the website. This hotel is very old and run down. I told my family we might be able to sit by the pool in the morning before a tour operator picked us up, but just like the horror that was the essense of this hotel, the pool was tapped of with yellow and black hazard tape and was dark and overgrown with god know what!! This Hotel was the epitome of a nightmare! Be very careful where you book in this city its a dangerous, seedy place.…
i booked with Parthenon since last year for our honeymoon trip and requested for airport pick up and it was confirmed by their hotel manager Luis Ramirez that he would arrange pick up for us. when we arrived to Iquitos airport, no taxi guy was waiting for us, so we had to arrange our own taxi. and when we arrived to Hotel Parthenon, they lost our reservations and i even printed out my hotel booking and email conversations between me and Luis Ramirez. they claim they ran out of rooms and they arranged me at another hotel instead that was much more expensive than the cost of their own rooms. please dont waste your time with this hotel. they are not professional at all. i emailed Luis Ramirez several times before and after the trip and he never followed up on my requests / complaints. he wont even arrange taxi on the way back to the airport or even give me credit for any of the hotel stays.…
