The bedrooms, common areas and bathrooms are all amazingly clean. The beds are comfortable with good blankets and a duvet. A reasonable sized locker for each person in the rooms. Staff were so wonderful and kind. Allowed you to store luggage for free and could stay in the hostel after check out if waiting for a night bus.

Excellent location, very helpful staff and very comfortable beds. The hostel has everything you need (water, coffee, beer, kitchen, left luggage). Highly recommend it. Only hangup was the WiFi kept dropping.

Mama Simona had a friendly environment, good common area, clean rooms, and staff. We opted for the double room but they have many room options available. Free (large)lockers to store your things are provided. No complaints here.

OK where do we start.... It is warm, welcoming and people very friendly. On the surface it is great. We stayed 2 nights and the then went back and stayed another 2 nights. The breakfast of bread, jam and hot coca tea was fine, they were happy to fry and egg. Reception was fine, the rooms and bathrooms very clean,...

The staff here are amazing! We only booked for 2 nights and just kept coming back to it because I felt safe. The only downsides were you could hear a lot from the other rooms and could be loud at points but nothing major and the breakfast is really just bread. Be prepared to go into the lobby to use...

We enjoyed our stay at Mama Simona: The hostel was pleasant, clean, and had friendly staff. The location was good, about a 10 min walk to the main square. We had a private room. There was some noise each morning as people left early for tours, but it was typically fairly quiet at night. The hostel was good value, good vibes.

My parter and I stayed at both locations (Cuzco and ollantaytambo) and where very pleased. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They both felt very clean. Beautiful garden in ollantaytambo to relax by after hiking around the ruins and Machu Picchu.

Fir a hostel, this was decent. Very affordable. I suggest getting a room with its own shower- only a few bucks more but much better than using shower in hall. This place is safe and secure and a quick walk from all main areas. Front desk was very helpful and friendly. There are lockers to leave you stuff while you...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is named after the sacred peak Mama Simona – the only female mountain deity among twelve others surrounding Cusco. Mama Simona Hostel is like a good conversation over a cup of coca tea rather than a wild party; a comfortable and welcoming refuge away from the standard “just-another-hostel” kind of place; simple wooden furniture and lots of room rather than cramped kitschy interiors. Staying with Mama Simona is like being invited into the warmth of a Peruvian home. ... more   less
