Sum it up - the staff was excellent. Mercedes met me at the airport and got me to the hotel. It is centrally located near Plaza de Armas and shopping. Great and eclectic restaurants conveniently located near the hostal. Mercedes can arrange anything for you, from treks, tours, taxis, tickets, laundry, etc. And she does not charge for doing this....

I was in Cusco with my wife for 8 days. Spent 4 days in Hostal Girasoles and 4 on the Inca trail. We were plesently surprised that Mercedes, the owner, welcomed us with some coca tea to help us acclimatise to the high altitude and also sat down to chat with us when we arrived. The rooms were clean and...

The best part of this hotel is the owner named Mercedes and her family who are super helpful. The rooms are sufficiently large, clean and there is hot water. The location is quiet so good sleep at night. The cost is $35 dollars, which means there are cheaper places but I didn't stay at any so I don't know. If...

Mercedes was very hospitable on our first night when we were chilled from the rain. She gave us a heater and extra blankets! The place was very clean and the breakfast delightful. The location was only a short walk from the plaza de armas and the San Blas plaza market. I would stay there again. 3 days is not enough...

Likes: -Staff was very helpful and attentive and answered all our questions about Cusco. All staff we encountered spoke decent English and we had no communication problems. -About 15 min walk from the main Plaza de Armas. -Quiet, peaceful room with a nice view of city. We were on top floor, I don't think all rooms have a view. Dislikes:...

We loved Mercedes and our stay at Hostel Girasoles. Our plane was late and Mercedes waited almost an hour to pick us up and gave us big hugs. On the way to the Girasoles, she took us to a travel agent to buy our bus tickets from Agua Calientes to Machu Picchu, because we were worried that they may sell...

After reading many reviews, I booked the Hostal Girasoles for two nights. Mercedes, the owner, and her husband picked us up at the airport. From that minute, we enjoyed every bit of time spent with Mercedes and her staff. Mercedes gave us great advice on shopping and even went with us to a few stores. From helping me with my...

We were greeted at the airport by the wonderful and very friendly Mercedes. She took us to the Hostal Girasoles explaining the location of things as we drove. Once we arrived she gave us tea to help with the altitude and recommended we rest before sightseeing. The place was very nice and clean. Our room was right next to the...
