We had a good experience at this hostel. It’s in a great location, close to downtown, and still feels authentically Ecuadorian. There’s a beautiful garden in the center and the woman who owns the place is super sweet. Affordable and pretty.
Historic and beautiful hostal, very professional and friendly service, and cozy, clean and quiet room. Reliable internet service. Comfortable bed. I enjoy every aspect of this hostal. It’s also in an ideal location — heart of Cuenca, I can walk to everything, almost never need a…
This hostel was recommended by a friend. I did not even ask how much. The family/owner of course is very nice but no English. There is a tiny courtyard with tiny plants and trees. Kitchen is not conducive for use. They only have warm water, not hot. I asked and they said yes it i…
Although situated in the historical centre, the place was very quiet.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
About only five minutes to main square or the the river (escalinata).
The shared bathrooms were very clean!
Our room had absolutely no ventilation, no windows, no wardrobe.
All furniture of the room likewise of the "lounge" was like taken from a flee market, the matress had bad quality.
The "bathroom" had about 1.5m² in size, no mirror and no space to sit normal on the bowl.
"All rooms are centered on a garden. It's very quiet here during the night."
"Stay away if you like comforts like good beds, electrical outlets, tv, wifi, hot showers advise on local trips."
"rooms with a bathroom cost more, but stayed in both and found no problem"
"Best to see in person and compare with other hostels and hotels. Be prepared to bargain, don't pay anything close to the first price asked. If you reserve, do it for only about three days, so you'll have a good excuse to move."
"Avoid the room off the front reception area - this is the smoking area and the wi-fi area - noisy and smoky."
