We had a wonderful table near the window and the view of Quito was fabulous with the Cathedral National in view. The rooftop has a 360 degree rooftop view. The service was very good and the pace of our meal was ideal. The menus has many Ecuadorian dishes. We ordered drinks and a number of appetizers to make our meal more like tapas. We got a good sampling of local cuisine. We were there for a late lunch - but would also be a great perch from which to watch the city lights.

The hospitality seems never ending. We had some great Days in Quito. And felt so welcome from the second we stepped in. The breakfast was fantasic, and we felt at home . The kids liked the pancakes with honey 😁

We ended up at Casa Vista Hermosa late at night because we could not find any places to sleep in. The woman who owns the place was so friendly and helpful. She cleaned the room for us at 10pm. The room was large (it was even a small apartment) and very confortable. The bathroom was outside the room, but private so not a problem at all. The view of Quito is absolutely breathtaking! We had a delicious breakfast (extra fee), probably one of the best in Ecuador. It was also one of the cheapest hotels we stayed in. We highly recommend this place. The only downside, but like most places in Ecuador, is the noise from the street in the morning.

I agree with other reviewers: Paulina and her family make a visitor feel totally at home at Casa Vista Hermosa. The room (double bed downstairs with single bed upstairs) was impeccable and comfortable, the staff (family) were extremely helpful and truly warm and friendly. We used Quito as a base and they allowed us to store large packs while we took multi-day trips, which was extremely helpful. The location is very good - the neighborhood seems to be seeing a bit of gentrification with tiny bars and restaurants opening in the stately old buildings, and its in walking distance of all old town site, a slightly longer but easily doable walk to Mariscal, and inexpensive cab rides to all other destinations we sought (bus stations, Mariscal restaurants, teleferico, etc, and Paulina et al were happy to arrange transportation for us if desired.

We stayed multiple times in this hotel when coming back to Quito during our travels through Ecuador. Paulina, her mother and her aunt are wonderful, and really made us feel at home, and incredibly helpful with everything. The rooms are spacious and clean, especially those on the upper floor, which have a higher ceiling and big windows. The view is beautiful. Breakfast ($2.50 for bread, eggs, juice and coffee, and $3.50 for yoghurt, fruits, granola and pancakes) is awesome (especially the pancakes) and all freshly made by Paulina. The location is also perfect, a five minute walk to the old center, but more on a hill, due to which it is quiet at night and the air feels a bit cleaner. A bus stop to go north/south in the city is only 10 min away. There are some nice (more international) restaurants around the corner, and also a very good bar. The prices of the rooms are also incredibly low compared to other hotels in the city with this quality. The friendliness of Paulina and her mother really give this place an extra charm!

I would give this place a 1-star for reservation handling but 5 stars for service. When I arrived to the hotel, I was informed that they had a double-booking problem (they claim it was the fault of the online booking site that I used), and that they don't have a room for me. I can understand that such a problem happens, but why wasn't I notified about it days in advance (especially when I was told that the person who occupied my room checked in 3 days earlier - couldn't you have noticed the problem back then and let me know??). However, Paulina was extremely helpful in a tough situation (all hotels in the city were fully booked due to a big conference), and literally walked around the area with me for 2 hours, making phone calls to different places, until we found a satisfactory place for me. I really appreciated her effort. My suggestion: if you book this place - call ahead to reconfirm your room is available.

We had the best room in the place - a queen size bed downstairs, two twin beds upstairs, and a kitchen. We had a view of the city and the hillside from our corner suite. All of the staff were extremely helpful and kind - we don't know any Spanish and we figured it out fine. Breakfast with Paula was simple and good - eggs and a cheese sandwich, coffee, and fruit juice for $4 or a big yogurt and fruit bowl, pancakes, and coffee for something like $3.50. The only drawback (that we figured out!) was the hot water in the showers. The trick is: turn it on just a touch and it'll run hot. If you run too much water, it's cold. Simple :) As for the location - it was perfect. We walked right into Centro Historico (~5min) and got right into the thick of things. It was safe to go out at night and it's also very close to the Central bus station (Corridor Norte-Sur).

Paulina and the old woman are the best! They are very friendly and will answer all your questions about Quito. These women will do everything for you, including making a very tasty breakfast with pancakes, eggs and fresh juice. The room was clean and there was hot water in the shower. The view over Quito is very nice!

Wonderful location near the historical center of Quito. The staff were very hospitable, despite speaking only limited English. The room was very spacious and beautiful. Good wi-fi. Would highly recommend.

A beautiful place to stay that is very close to La Ronda, a nice place to go eat in the evenings to get typical Ecuadorian food. During the day, it is safe to walk around however at night, it is recommended not to walk far and to get a taxi anywhere instead. I would suggest asking the owners what the cost of a taxi should be at the time so that you are not overcharged. I went with family and the room rented had a kitchen which led off to a spacious room with a queen bed and bunk bed. Up the stairs there was a loft which had another bed. The place was very clean and homey. It was a The owners were very welcoming and friendly, they provided us advice whenever we had a question. For an extra charge, they can provide breakfast at the time you want if you wish. The only complaint would be the shortage of hot water. Depending on the time, there would be no hot water, especially if more than one was showering at once. You also had to play with it, in order for the water to heat up. However we did mention it to the owners so hopefully they'll work on it. Overall a lovely stay at the quaint house with a beautiful view and a homey atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again.
