I visited Quito in mid-January 2015, as my daughter was studying there, and I stayed six nights in Hotel Vieja Cuba. The hotel staff is excellent, with Daniela the manager really standing out for her professionalism, assistance in English, and knowledge of Quito. The rest of the staff are most friendly and helpful - everyone is upbeat. They are constantly...

We enjoyed our stay at this small hotel. It definitely is different than staying at a chain. The rooms, although small, were very clean and decorated nicely. It is within walking distance of many excellent restaurants, as well as a block away from a supermarket. The staff was absolutely first rate, going out of their way to make our stay...

I had a last minute change of plans and ended up staying here with a friend for a night and I was so overjoyed by the helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and beautiful exterior. They helped us find a close by pharmacy with no difficulty at all. The room we stayed in was just big enough for everything you would need....

This lovely small boutique hotel has colonial style architecture, with lots of tile work and wood ceilings. Our own room was unique, on two levels in a round turret, with a tiny exterior balcony opening halfway up the curving stairway. The staff is pleasant, and helpful with advice on sightseeing and local restaurants. They will phone for a taxi upon...

Hotel Vieja Cuba is a very well situated hotel close to all the bars and restaurants in the tourist area. It appears to have just about sixteen or so bedrooms in it so has a very homely feel about it . They are very helpful at reception giving you advice on trips or directions with a map and their English...

This was a pleasant surprise. For the price, it exceeded our expectations. This was well worth the price. It is well located. The rooms were unique, a combination of ski chalet, exposed brick walls and odd charming details for windows and doors. It was clean. The bathroom was small, but, it did the job. The breakfast was delicious. The restaurant...

Vieja Cuba is an excellent place to stay, we arrived at midnight and they were expecting us, they immediately gave us our room (number 12). The place is super clean, the beds extra comfortable, the tv is a bit old but you probably won't use it a lot. Breakfast is delicious, you get eggs, bread, butter, fruit, yogurt, the most...

The colonial style hotel is charming. We had four people in a room at $115/night, a double bed and bunk beds (room #8). The rooms and hotel were clean, and it was surprisingly quiet. The breakfast is amazing and included, you can easily fill up in the morning. There's also complimentary water bottles in the room for you. I was...

Vieja Cuba is well located and kind of cute. The staff on site are terrific with the exception of the front desk staff, the woman who checked us in was the first face we encountered and although she did her job it was done without warmth or a smile. The breakfast was served in a very dimly lit nicely decorated...
