Hotel is nice, good size rooms, nice workout area and spa. Very good front desk service. The concierge doesn't work on the weekends, sort of strange and did not follow through on a reservation for us. Sort of frustrating. The restaurant service is slow, not all speak English, did not have lots of what they listed.

Stayed 2 nights prior to our Galapagos cruise. Firstly, avoid room 421, as it's beside the housekeeping service room. You can hear the trolleys rumbling across the timber floor . However, after 2 weeks in Ecuador, we must say that this place has the worst trained staff out of anywhere we have stayed to date. On our first night it...

The hotel staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful, start to finish! Quito is a wonderful city in a beautiful country and the JW Marriott is an amazing addition. We stayed two nights, then went to another city, then returned to Quito for two more nights. The latter stay we upgraded to the Presidential Suite for a little...

This Marriott is one of the finest I have visited. There are many good and shopping choices. The fresh flowers are beautifully arranged, and the rooms are large with comfortable bedding and a spacious bathroom. I'd recommend it highly.

We stayed here for several nights pre-and post Celebrity Galapagos cruise--we could not imagine a better hotel experience. Excellent and prompt communication via email from the concierge arranging a taxi for our late-night arrival at the airport, and help in arranging a trip on the Tren de Los Volcanoes on our free day in Quito. The hotel itself is large...

We spent a very short stay after arriving on a late flight from Miami. Beware that the new airport is a good 40 min ($50) drive from the center of town. Staff was very attentive, which seemed to be the standard in Ecuador. Room was standard fare for Marriott.

Dear Erick K, Thank you for your comments. Our airport used to be in the middle of the city, but about 3 years ago, the city inaugurated the new Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Tababela, which is located about 37km away from the city. We spent a couple days in Quito prior to a week in the Galapagos and the JW Marriott was a perfect home base. The rooms were clean and comfortable - exactly what you'd expect.
