The very first property that we stayed at on our trip to Ecuador was Hotel Boutique Portal De Cantuna!! We are so happy we stayed here....such an amazing experience!! The property is an old mansion turned into a hotel!! Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The location is PERFECT!! You are in walking distance to everything in Old...

I really wish I was writing a different, more positive review for Portal de Cantuna. Unfortunately, our experience was not positive. As usual, we booked it based on reviews. We had one night in Quito en route to Galapagos and wanted to make the most of our short stay. The location of the hotel and its positive reviews made it...

This is the second time I've stayed here; I love the atmosphere and the comfortable rooms. The whole hotel is filled with really interesting artwork, including the gorgeous ceiling over the interior courtyard (stained glass?). All staff members are helpful and friendly; they were happy to help us with our luggage, even at 4:00 AM! Breakfast here is very good;...

This boutique hotel is within one of the older buildings in Quito. As such the decor is very much colonial. Sure the building has many issues existing in the modern world, but rooms are tidy and I loved drinking in the atmosphere that modern building lack. Furnishings and decorations simply ooze history. The hotel is in easy walking distance of...

We loved this little hotel! It is very conveniently located and we could walk to almost everything we wanted to see in the historic district. The staff was very friendly and Sonia, the mama, helped us with all the arrangements we needed to make. Breakfast is hearty and served in a great space on the ground level. My only complaint,...

Traveling with my son from Europe. This building was built originally as a monastery some 200+ years ago and it is beautifully renovated to the last details! Extremely quiet hotel in historic center of Quito in an area where other hotels can be next to noisy streets! The staff is incredibly helpful in every way! Just ask whatever you need!...

We were able to book at last minute and worked closely with hotel manager who was very helpful and responsive to our questions. Location is ideal to explore Quito and Old Town on foot. The hotel is quaint and clean. The rooms were more than adequate. We had an inner room and was very quiet. I'd return here.

I was travelling with my mother, also a fairly seasoned traveler, on our way to the Galapagos. I wanted something charming, with character, in the Centro Historical. The hotel perfectly fit what I had in mind and mother, a month later, is still overjoyed at my choice of this lodging. Great location, steps from Iglesia de San Francisco and the...

Arrived late at night and were shown to our room which was small and we were a little daunted by its lack of window. However the next morning at breakfast we had a wonderfully warm welcome by the lady owner. She apologized for us being given the room and moved us to a big airy room which was lovely. We...
