Guayunga hostel is in a great location, with amazing staff and options for travelers. It was a great way to get to know the Centro Historico, the city of Quito and see other parts of Ecuador through their tour of Otavalo. The staff is so welcoming and became a second family. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality. I...

I got to know and appreciate the people who operate it. Very convenirnt to old part of Quito, including the wonderful old and magnificent churches. Facility also offers trips to see some of the many volcanoes in Ecuador and even to the Amazon River area. There is so much to see in this interesting country.

We originally booked the room with private bathroom. It was in the basement and kind of damp. We asked the receptionist; who turned out to be the co-owner if we could move. Marie immediately accommodated our request, and said she wished HostelBookers would remove that room from the list as is ready for renovations. From there, things were nothing but...

I stayed here with my group of students for a few nights before a biology field course. For the price the hostal is excellent-- clean, safe, helpful, friendly staff, and perfect location (easy walk to Old Town). The view from the rooftop is spectacular. Also not loud at night, which was good for our group. Would definitely recommend this place,...

showers, beds are very clean; everybody's very helpful, friendly and polite, the view of the terraces is AMAZING (definitely a reason to stay here); breakfast included, but it's really not a lot. the hostel is very central and you have a lot of bus stops nearby.

After spending 8 months in Ecuador, this hostel is always my go-to when I visit Quito. The rooftop terrace has an amazing view of Old Town, breakfast and coffee is delicious, and there are really cool paintings all over the place. The family is incredibly nice and helps you with whatever you need. Rooms are simple, but worth the value,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Guayunga hostel! Guayunga opened its doors 30 years ago, starting as a small guesthouse. In 2010, a restoration project was in place to convert the guesthouse into a Hostel. Guayunga hostel is strategically located at the heart of the historical Quito. Quito was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the 1970s for having the best preserved and least altered historic center in Latin America. Becerra Garzón’s family, the founders of Guayunga Hostel started off with the dream of creating a place where travelers from all over the world would feel welcome and could interact.
