Firstly, if it's the historic centre you're looking for, this is a great place to base yourself in Quito in terms of price, location and staff. The staff were very helpful particularly around safety tips in the area and there is a nice, homely feel about the hostal. Our room was small enough in size, facing out on the street...

Hostal Quito Cultural is a quaint though worn down hostel in the historic district of Quito, a great place from which to base one's exploration of the city. Rooms are relatively small though comfortable as are the beds. Availability of hot water can vary depending on who else is using water or showering at the same time. Breakfast comes with...

This is a Old historic hostel run by a lady. She is very helpful and very nice. This hostel is close to the old city square and all old city attractions. No elevator so you have to haul your luggage 1 or 2 floors on stairs. very affordable price and prime locations makes it a great stay. Hotel also has...

Right in the centre of Centro Historico, this is a well run hostel has a great atmosphere. Rooms are well looked after and very clean. There is a roof terrace that overlooks the town where you can get away from it all. Unbelievably friendly owner and staff.

I stayed here for one week. This is what I liked: It is in a good location in old town - short walk from most places. Good breakfast - fruit, tea and coffee, juice, eggs and bread. It's a big building with big rooms. The room was always clean. It was always quiet. The host, Matteo, was always helpful and...

I definitely loved the feel of this hotel, and the big central atrium and views from the roof. The rooms are big with lots of light. wifi worked well. I give it four instead of five because I think it's a bit overpriced for some of the amenities. For the price we paid per night they could improve the breakfast...

In old town, walking distance to the city center. Nicely decorated with local art (make sure you spend sometime to go through the lobby and the staiways). Great view of the city from its rooftop (this is also a great place to relax yourself if you can find some extra time in Quito). Staff is super nice. Only drawback was...

The guys who work here are all great and the interior of the hotel is great to hang out in. I was able to hang out and play Xbox while waiting for my 150am flight! Good coffee. Great view from the 3rd floor hammock! Right in the best part of old town!

I stayed at this hostel for a few nights as a part of a class trip. The breakfast served every morning was really yummy, the staff were nothing but kind and helpful, and the location is in a really nice spot. The view from the 4th floor is really beautiful, and when I stayed there you could see the Basilica...

Stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. The staff was so helpful and even brought us up coffee to the top floor when we missed breakfast. The location is great and only a few minutes walk into the centre of the old town. The age group of guests was varied - retires to young backpackers and it was very...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hostal Quito Cultural born of a XVIII century building at the hands of a French architect, this house currently consists as a heritage of Barrio San Marcos the oldest in Quito. With a rich pre-Columbian history, the capital of Ecuador was founded on the ruins of an Inca city, but offers everything a modern traveler may need. Still one of the best preserved historical sites in Latin America and the UNESCO declared world heritage. The location of the hostel is convenient because it allows travelers to move around the old Quito and know all the baroque jewels, like the monasteries of San Francisco and Santo Domingo, as well as the church and the college of the Company. The hostel rooms have all the amenities to make guests feel comfortable and can enjoy their holiday as they deserve, our main seal of the fraternity is offered by our staff. ... more   less
