A lot of people have said this place is disorganized, but that was not our experience. We are a couple and booked a private room with bath. I booked online two days in advance and they had our reservation. We arrived in the afternoon, so I didn't test their "late arrival" capability. Hot water in the shower came and went,...

Positives: Good location for restaurants and bars. Rooms had good sized lockers. Bathrooms are a decent size and showers were OK. It's also cheap. Negatives: We spent ages trying to get in as the staff had left the front desk unattended. The room we were given was worn and right at the front by the main road and communal area....

First day, no hot water in the showers. Only cold. And in Quito cold water is really cold, especially at 7.30 am. The second morning, only lukewarm water. Progress! But unfortunately, the third day no water at all. There seems to be a few issues with the water in this place... Bunk beds in the dorms very wobbly, so if...

I arrived a day early, but they were able to put me up. Overall the hostel is in a good location, but the kitchen hours is a bit strange, closed from noon to 4pm. They do serve breakfast at a charge of $2.50. Service was fine and great with information about things around town. It is not a party hostel.

A pretty average price for a stay in a sought-after Mariscal area. The staff were friendly and helpful. Apparently the area is known for tourists being mugged, but we didn't have any problems over the four days that we stayed here. Lots of great restaurants and bars within walking distance. The hostel itself felt a little cramped when at full...

We booked a private double room at hostel backpackers inn online through hostelbookers 2 days before arriving in Quito from Peru. Our flight to Quito was quite late at night and so we decided it would be best to confirm our arrival time would be ok as it would be passed midnight. We received an email from the management staying...

I stayed here on and off for 3 weeks whilst volunteering in Quito. I did my booking online through hostelbookers, however it's a bit hit and miss with this hostel. When I first got there I showed them my online booking but as they 'hadn't checked the internet' since the previous morning they had no record of my booking. I...

I'm really surprised about the bad reviews I read. I had a really good time in this hostal. The location is great, its really clean and the staff was very helpful and kind. The price was also okay (7 dollars for a 5 bed shared room). You have free, Wi fi, Internet and a kitchen you can use. I really...

This hostel is located right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Quito, and it has so much potential to be a great hostel but the owner clearly doesnt give a stuff about it. We had booked online and upon arrival showed the lady behind the counter our reservation number and she said the room would be ready...

As you can read from the other reviews, don't expect to stay in the room you booked. We used hostelbookers to book a private room which was cheaper than the rest. When we arrived they had no idea about our reservation and explained that the room we did not book was also not available. They moved us to a much...
