This hotel is one of my favorites. Built in 1870, the hotel exudes history, with magnificent views over "Valpo" and Vina Del Mar. Sitting in the outdoor bar area on a hot day drinking a cold beer, was delightful. The staff are friendly, courteous and are only too eager to please. The hotel is only 5 mins from downtown Valpo...

I'm not always big on boutique hotels as there are expected comforts that go missing. The trade off is a delightful view from my smallish room with an ensuite bath accessible via a spiral staircase. The bathroom, with a jacuzzi tub, made for three challenging mornings of showers. I stand six feet and can never stand straight up lest my...

Our experience at the hotel was great. The staff was helpful and professional. The location and architecture of the hotel was even better. Its near all the interesting points that Valparaiso has to offer. The rooms are very clean and they keep the infrastructure which shows some history of the city. I would highly recommend to stay here if you...

Valparaiso is a magical town and this hotel is sprinkled with fairy dust! Getting there is exciting as there are small steep roads to traverse. As you step through the door, the friendly, antique strewn rooms embrace and welcome. The hotel is a beautifully restored house perched on the side of one of Valparaiso's 41 hills. There are stairs to...

This property is quaint and charming. That being said...there are some pitfalls that we were mislead about. We were told we had reserved suites but these were hardly regular hotel rooms. DO NOT PLAN TO PARK A CAR HERE. They told us there was limited parking behind the hotel. Thats true except it is impossible to find a spot that...

We enjoyed a 3-night stay at the Gervasconi. Located high above the town of Valparaiso with views of the harbour. An old victorian home turned in to a very nice boutique hotel. One wall in our room had original stone work, 2-3 stairs led up to the bathroom and we had a small balcony. Winding hallways and stairways made this...

We stayed at Hotel Gervasoni for three nights and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is a small boutique one with only 14 rooms, we had teh top floor loft room which afforded us a nice breeze at night and woke to the sounds of the seagulls early in the morning. GThe views are not spectacular since the harbor has been...

The Hotel Gervasoni is at the top of a funicular and has a great view of the city. It is a colorful, quirky hotel with a friendly staff in an old building. Breakfasts are fine. I has a small single room with a view overlooking a back street; the room was so small that there was no place to open...

It is not easy accessible from the road. It is full of character as a boutique hotel. A little Fawlty Towers like experience. Ensure that you do not have the room downstairs that is on the street. As there is no air conditioning you need to open the windows. The window opens onto the street, it does have bars but...

This is a small hotel on the side of the hills which has charm and clean rooms. As the door is about a short city block from the road, it should not be considered easily accessible if that is important. Our room was front on the top floor (up about 15 narrow, steep steps from the lobby) but was large...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel is the fruit of lengthy restoration work to recover one of the homes of greatest cultural value in the hills of Valparaiso, measuring more than 11,000 square feet. This house was built by European immigrants circa 1870. The imposing building, now transformed into a boutique hotel, uniquely portrays, through its welcoming setting, the lifestyles of the generations of families that lived on the hill. The house’s architecture takes you back in time to the mode of life at the end of the 19th century. Luxury refurbishings concordant to the comforts of a five-star hotel interweave discreetly throughout the patrimonial air in the house, creating just the right cross between tradition and modernness. ... more   less
