The website hooked us in, and the man in all the photos is as helpful as he looks. We stayed three nights and couldn't have felt more at home. All the staff extremely friendly and couldn't have done anything else to help. The owner gave us a lot of sites to see and information. The internet was fast and reliable... More

I loved this hotel. It is in an ideal location in Valparaiso, a very short walk away from restaurants, the port, and other attractions in the tourist area. There is free parking although it is about a 5-10 minute walk. I did not find that to be a problem as the walk was easy and interesting. The people that work... More

In a lovely old building halfway up Cerro Concepcion, this is a great little find. The rooms are characterful with (in our case) extraordinarily high ceilings - about 5m... The bathroom was a little small, and because of the extensive plumbing you have to wait a few minutes for hot water to make it through the pipes - but it's... More

Before I checked into Hotel Da Vinci, I paid extra money to reserve a "premium" room. When I checked in I confirmed with the front desk that I was going to be given a "premium" room. Instead I was put in a closet without a window, airconditioning or even a basic fan. The room was stifflingly hot with no ventilation.... More

First impression of the hotel was a bit worrying. Not only was the road open due to construction works, which made it difficult to get up the hill with the luggage, we didn't find the entrance door and once inside the hotel looked a bit old and outdated to us. But that was only the first impression. Instead of an... More

The Da Vinci did not have an elevator or a swimming pool and there was no mini-bar or telephone in our room...but none of this detracted frm our stay there. We were met at the door by the owner who escorted us to the reception and personally helped carry our baggage to our first floor room. Our room was comfortable... More

We stayed at the Da Vinci for 1 night after our cruise. In retrospect, I would have skipped Valparaiso altogether and left the same day the ship docked. The hotel is OK. I would have considered it a luxury in my 20s but in my 60s I prefer a bit more luxury. The room was a good size, the bathroom... More

First the pros, the location is good and the staff very personable and helpful. The cons are that the room we had, number 7, a triple was very small and noisy. The shower could only muster a hard trickle of lukewarm water. The hotel itself was attractive enough
