We stayed in la chimba for 3 nights, ventured to Valparaiso then returned for a night before an early morning flight. La chimba is an amazing, friendly, clean, fun filled hostel that turned into our second home for the week. The large comfy couches and large screen plasma screen with Netflix was a serious treat. The 9 beded poded rooms...

This hostel is great for solo travellers. I met some amazing people here and had an unforgettable time. The rooms and bathrooms could have used some TLC but for meeting people and having a good time I was very impressed. Good location too

I don't know why but for some reason the lady receptionist was so unprofessional, unfriendly and lazy! We arrived the hotel at 15:33hrs from New Zealand with a 14 hours flight! Me and my husband's first time in South America! I greeted her in Spanish language, I gave my passport and she said she just need to finish something if...

It's ashame the hostel is really good. Good size, good location, staff are friendly however I got eaten by bed bugs and had to leave early. Bites all over my body which meant I had to leave early and get a hotel. The bites have been itching for days. Ruined the experience of the hostel

This guest left without paying. When he was contacted by management to settle the bill he claimed he was "eaten by bed bugs" as an excuse not to pay. This is a lie. There were absolutely no reports of bed bugs in any room of the hostel during the time of his stay. He stayed over five nights in a...

Great location, at a walking distance from a great number of bars in bellavista. Cool private twin room with comfortable beds. A lot of cool common areas, including a barbecue yard. Ok bathrooms (one had a terrible smell and the others were ok, nothing great and nothing horrible). Very basic breakfast. Good place to meet people and party. Overall, good...

Living in Valpo for a month I wanted to do a weekend getaway to Santiago. La Chimba was great. I met a lot of wonderful people, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean and I felt safe. One guy did get his passport stolen while there because he didn't lock up his stuff in a dorm style room. Make...

La Chimba is a fun party hostel. The staff are great and they organise various activities in the evenings. The hostel is big and divided into different sections. The section I was in had a super amazing living room with couches, bean bags and netflix, as well as a pool table. I managed to sleep through the noise in the...
