great views, good breakfast, kindly staff. in the center of valdivia and near the river. The hotel has a spa, swimming pool, bedrooms are comfortables, clean rooms, everything was perfect in our stay.
Modern hotel in gorgeous river location. Ample rooms freshly redecorated with new carpeting and huge TVs . Modern bathrooms and big terrace. Great location, walking distance to downtown and many restaurants
We booked directly through the hotel because it appeared to be a better option and we also like to see the hotel benefit directly from our stay. My husband had stayed before and chose the hotel for it's location and amenities. The location is right next to the Teja Island bridge and river, so it is lovely and convenient to Esmeralda restaurants. However, we were offered hospitality by a colleague and when our colleague called to cancel or even get a credit for the stay they told him reservations are not cancelable. The english site in the US doesn't mention cancellation but the Chilean site does. It says " Cancellation and prepayment conditions may vary depending on the type of room. Enter the dates of your stay and check the conditions of the selected room. Cancellations are not allowed on congress dates, holidays, summer seasons and dates with a closed rate due to limited availability" Be careful if booking in the US - because you will be held to the Chilean rules.…
We booked this hotel as a last-minute thing. A short weekend getaway. It was a great stay! In summary: The good: -The room and bathroom were very spacious. We went for the standard room with river view. The size is anything but standard! Very roomy! And our balcony was massive and had a wonderful view! - The TV is our room was ENORMOUS! It was like being in a cinema. - All staff were very friendly and efficient. - Breakfast has lots of options and of good quality. - The food off the room service menu was very good. - The rate we paid was very reasonable. - Beds and bedding EXCELLENT. The bad - The coffee at breakfast was terrible. In fact, getting a decent cup of coffee in this hotel was impossible. - The music in the SKY BAR in the evening was FAR too loud. - The food of the SKY BAR menu wasn't great. I recommend you order off the room service menu and have the food delivered upstairs. - Whoever designed this hotel missed out on a great opportunity. Despite the location and the fact that the hotel has a MASSIVE roof, there is no outside space anywhere other than a smoking area on the top of the hotel that is all walled in. - The next point was out of the hotel's control, so not blaming them. However, the hotel had no lobby when we stayed as it was subject to massive vandalism a few months prior during the Chilean protests. This made getting in and out of the hotel a bizarre mix of elevators and walking through the park. However, as I say, the hotel is not to blame. In fact, I thought they did an excellent job of managing to operate with a temporary reception. This said, a warning on the website about there being no lobby would have been welcomed as we didn't quite understand how to get in when we arrived! We loved our stay so much that we added an extra night at the end! I would HAPPILY come back again!…
We were unfortunate to arrive after a protestor attack. Entrance, lobby, restaurant were damaged and closed. We had to enter through depressing garage and basement. Bar was opened for food. Selection is limited. Only problem is with the windows and patio door operation falling apart. We could not enjoy the balcony or open window. The building is a pretentious engineering structure, with a casino. Quite ugly and cheapest construction. Thoughtless view windows with no protection from sunset glare.
