This was my third stay at Champion Hotel on Joo Chiat Road. This time I booked 1 night in a single-bedded room as I needed to be out at the airport early the next morning. As I'd prepaid on Agoda no deposit was required for incidentals at the time I checked in. I arrived after 11am and was given my...

This hotel have a nice location in Singapore Katang, the rooms are clean just enough, no possibility to have any meal or drink without one cool and hot automate in lobby. The room size is good but don't fogey to remind than they add 17% of service and VAT. The breakfast isn't in the hotel but in a other coffee...

The rooms and big and clean. Enough for a couple. Have not tried the rooms for families. Location is easy accessible. Easy to find food for children. Staff are courteous. Will try out the cartoon rooms if available.

Took about 10-15 mins walk from Paya Lebar MRT station. Hotel is located in an alley, check in was pretty smooth, staff are friendly. Upon entering the hotel room, bed was nice, equipped hair dryer, water kettle, some coffee and tea. There was also a mini fridge located in a cabinet. Toilet were also equipped with amenities, face towels and...

The room on the non-smoking floor was clean and well designed. Good size with an opening window fitted with shutters. Quiet. Most convenient with buses and trains nearby. Staff particularly helpful. Bottled water renewed every day most welcome. Good local eating places nearby, Walking distance to extensive shopping centres.

From the US and stayed for a couple of days. Upgraded to the room with a window- definitely NOT worth it, save the money. Now to the good stuff- trendy, clean rooms. Wonderful staff. Great area near food, shopping and public transportation. The breakfast is EVERYTHING! It's located at a restaurant a few doors down (local food). Bad- thin walls...

Staying in Joo Chiat

Neighbourhood Profile
Joo Chiat
The Joo Chiat area is the traditional home of Peranakan culture in Singapore, an ethnic group descending from the blending of Chinese and Malay families in the 15th century. The neighbourhood is packed with colourful shops, local characters, and quiet charm. The main streets overflow with diners enjoying katong laksa, the signature Peranakan spicy noodle soup. Signs of youthful entrepreneurship are visible as well, with modern cafes, bars, and shops abounding. Visit Joo Chiat to take a break from the big city sights and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a laid-back and local vibe.
