Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Location of the hotel is excellent, 15 minutes walk to train station. I booked a suite, which was fit for purpose and had lots of space. Reception staff were very helpful and on my last day, I left my luggage behind for a number of hours without any issue.

I found the staff very welcome and friendly upon arrival. The room was rather soacious and offered strong wifi, fridge, powerful shower, kettle and complimentary tea/coffee/water. Everything looked nice and well-maintained. The cleaning if the bathroom could have been a bit more thorough (lots of long black hair on the ground) but was overall good. The hotel was quiet and the bed comfy. In the vicinity were lots of restaurants and shops. The closest MTR station is 10min away and connects to the airport as well as the city centre.

Our twin room for 1 night was actually pretty good; spacious and great amenities (toothbrush/toothpaste, shower cap, slippers, in shower body soap and shampoo, clean kettle, coffee). Some of the TV channels were quite low resolution and the bathroom door is only privacy glass. Aircond works, though was a tad loud. You can hear some noise from people in the corridor and when neighbours' taps go on. These are relatively minor issues. The main reason I couldn't give a higher rating is because of the commotion I heard outside our closed window in the middle of the night. The back and forth yelling actually woke me up and was so prolonged that it had me worried about an escalation. Maybe it's not the hotel's fault, but better sound proofing for rooms facing the street, on lower floors, would be good.

As probably many others who are starting or ending their trip in Singapore thanks to the good flight connections, we were looking for a decent and affordable place to stay. We didn't need any extras like a pool or restaurant, but wanted a comfy room, own bathroom and good location to eat, shop, explore. All of this we found at Champion Hotel! The family room (at 4th floor) was quite spacious and in a good condition, Wifi, Aircon and everything else worked just fine and the staff was friendly and welcoming! The area has a "small-town" touch and you can find small fruit/grocery shops and cafes and restaurants nearby. As our flight was late in the evening, we could keep our luggage at the hotel and pick it up on our way to the airport (including an opportunity to freshen up a bit in their restrooms). MRT (Paya Lebar) is walking distance, taxi from/to the airport does not cost a fortune - highly recommend this place, we would certainly book it again!

I do not understand why this place has such good reviews. There is mould everywhere. From the moment you step in you smell the damp, which they attempted to cover up by cheap toilet spray. The hotel is not conveniently located to the MTR, it is at least 10 mins walk. It is more convenient to take the bus. Do not stay here

Outside of the location, they is nothing that can redeem the room. It had mold in the bathroom n the wallpaper was peeling. Thank God the lighting was dark. ... hid the shortfalls. Also was going to charge us for extra towels. We know accommodations her is sg is expensive, but mold.... the staff were nice but only so much they can do.

Having stayed once in Singapore before and knowing how much you pay for a small windowless room, I knew I had to look for a place outside of the city center and tourist attractions for a decent place that wouldn’t break the bank. Champion Hotel fit the bill and I was actually surprised about both the room and bathroom size. The decor was updated, but a bit worn out. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were pretty hard . Room offers a mini fridge, safe and full size mirror. There’s lot of shopping malls and eateries around the hotel, it’s a pretty interesting area. The nearest MRT station is Paya Lebar (with its own mall and restaurants) and that’s about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. I’d stay here again on a next trip.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights after having stayed at other hotels in Singapore this one was by far the cheapest and the biggest. We had a corner room so we had a window in the room and French doors in the bathroom. It looks like they did upgrades maybe 8-10 years ago but it is starting to show it age again, grout coming out from the tiles, vanity cupboard chipped and worn, the stupid thing whatyamacallit around the bed all chipped, and the rugs in the hallways looks like it has been travelled on by many people as it is pretty nasty. Other than that the bed was comfortable, and clean and the airconditioning blew cold air so that is a bonus. The location is really good lots of food around so you won’t go hungry and malls for shopping. There is a little mini mart down below on the corner where you can pick up some cold beer, as beer is not served in this part of the city much. Enjoyed the stay ! The MRT station is a few blocks away so it easy to hop on and it will take you where you need to go.

Considering how pricey accommodation can be in Singapore, this hotel does provide good value considering its relative affordability and location. Stayed in a windowless, single room which was small but comfortable enough for one pax. The room and toilet was clean and gives you everything that you need as a solo and/or business traveler. Location-wise, pretty good too, within walking distance to many eateries and amenities, as well as a bus stop and Paya Lebar MRT. Good reception service and overall a decent stay.
