The location is very good, Bugis Junction is around the corner so you can access the metro easily. There are numerous resteraunts in the adjoining streets and a lively atmosphere for an evening dine.

The hotel itself is very basic. The rooms are small which is fine. However the shower never gets hotter than lukewarm and the WiFi constantly drops out (we stayed on the fifth floor). Breakfast is a small self serve buffet, but the breakfast room is too small so you may end up queueing for a table if you go down after 8am.

Stay here if you're not planning on being in the hotel much and just need a place to sleep that is in a convenient location.

This hotel is inconspicuous because of its tiny lobby and no grand driveway, but what it lacks in glamour is made up by its great location. Its practically in the middle of a variety of restaurants and just a few steps away from Leang Seah street which has a lot of restaurants, the whole street is closed in the evening so tables and chairs are on the road, a fun atmosphere with good food. The room is simple, some
Of the sockets are broken, so charging multiple devices at once was a pain. The buffet Breakfast was a huge surprise though, food was very good and despite the very tiny hall, the food had a great variety to choose from. From breads, to local dishes, to western ham and sausages. Only you should go down early or wait in line for a table. Tiny space. 2 queen beds in the family room and no more space for an extra bed, that would have made it perfect

The room, location, and amenities are ok, acceptable for the price paid. Hotel internet needs a lot of improvement. The poor wifi signals really affected the hotel stay, as it was not conducive to looking upon things while traveling or at work.

Central hotel in the City. Great base for travelling around Singapore as train station across the road. Room small but adequate. Shower good. Coffee and bottled water in room. Breakfast was rather chaotic. Too many people for such a small area. Reception staff friendly. .

I stayed at the Park View Hotel in May '15 for 2 days. I had perused the lists of hotels in Singapore, and like me, if you have done your research Singapore is not cheap! This review is based on my unbiased and neutral views. There are drones of people who tend to slander reviews instead of dispensing 'helping' advice.

The hotel is Asian - People tend to forget that they are not in the Western World. A 4* in Europe/N.America is not necessarily a 4* in Asia!

Here goes:-
(1) Hotel staff impeccable! Singapore is an ex-British Colony so English is widely spoken and of a high level. I had quite a fun time checking in with the reception staff. I was also shown to my room. The reception area is clean and air-conditioned.
(2) The rooms are extremely clean and efficient. There are plenty of plug sockets and tv/fridge/tea/coffee facility/safe for personals. If you are basing your stay in Singapore purely on Location and to you a hotel room is only somewhere to sleep and shower, then, this is more than acceptable.
(3) Breakfast - very basic but does provide Pancakes, eggs, sausages, tea/coffee/fruit juices, bread, jams. REMEMBER: you are in the Far East so expect cultural differences! I found the breakfast satisfied me until the evening time after a days exploring.
(4) THIS IS THE BIGGY - LOCATION is superb!!!! Always turn Right out of the hotel. Walk along the main road and after only a few minutes you walk past the entance for Raffles Hotel. Carry on walking down the same road it leads to the CBD and all the shops, bars, restaurants along the river at Boat Quay. Here ou can get a great view of the Merlion, Marina Bay Sands Hotel and the Theatre.
(5) There is wifi which you are given a code to access. Not super fast but more than acceptable for keeping in touch at home.

I have absolutely no problems in returning to this hotel in future.

They lost one of our bags after we left it with the bell hop so we could continue shopping on our last day before flying back. The front desk and hotel manager were very apologetic but I wasnt really satisfied with their response. And so I asked for the hotel owner, thinking that I could get better answers from him or at least compensate us for the inconvenience their negligence caused us. The owner came out and greeted me. I asked him politely what would be their action if they failed to recover the luggage. The owner answered, 'then i will let you talk to my lawyer!' and told me that the hotel is not liable to lost luggage. I became more frustrated that he didnt seem to care about their guests. He didnt even apologize or empathize! He was arguing with me instead of feeling sorry for what happened. He spoke to me like uneducated person. It was really a bad experience and that hotel OWNER made it even worse. It was past 3pm and our flight was 5pm so we just ended the discussion. We flew back without our luggage.

The hotel is well located on beach road and quite convenient as just a few step from the hotel is Liang Seah St. which has a variety of restaurants from Asian to Western dishes, although most restaurant opens at 10 am or 12 noon. 7/11 stores are also located around the block of the hotel which quite perfect for those sudden needs. Passing on Liang Seah St. just straight ahead you will bumped in into one of their shopping malls, the Bugis Junction, the mall is perfect for your shopping needs especially clothes, most of the brands are locally known, although it has a few selection for office/school supplies but highly recommended for that average cost shopping trip.

The hotel on the other hand is very basic, it has a bed, bathroom & television, no cabinets are seen though. At night I usually scan the television channels to catch up some new, but apparently I could not find any English broadcast channel for news update or just for a night movies before sleeping. The bed was covered with a duvet but has no blanket at the bottom of it, and duvet even has a holes on the edges of it. Walking space on the room is just enough to fit one person passing by. Internet connection was a big shock as they charge around SGD 35 which is quite expensive for me. The bathroom was good, I like it that the toilet and the shower is not combined like other hotels do. The housekeeping was very good as well as it kept my room tidy everyday and was very courteous. One of the good values we got when we booked with the hotel via Booking.com, was having a room + breakfast with a lower cost which is really good but for breakfast, the hotel prepares the same food choices everyday. I really wished they would try to have alternatives soon!

All in all the hotel is good and perfect for tourist who are looking for mid - range hotel cost, especially if your mostly out of the day, request for rooms with a window as it will ease the feel of claustrophobic, and lastly get your direction right and where you'd like to go as the Front Desk could assist you very little with the directions. Cheers to your future travel and stay in Singapore!

I first stayed here last March 2011. Since I'm petite and was used to having an average bedroom, I don't demand large and spacious room on hotel accommodation specially if I'm just staying for a few days. In short, in my opinion Park View Hotel povides a comfy room and just a right amount of space for asians. (but I think western people prefer a bigger room). They are also lenient on reservations, they allowed us to reserve the rooms without a deposit since our case was special, we were booking quite a sum of rooms, and the set up for the rest of our stay was complicated. Nevertheless they were accommodating and have adjusted to our every request. And for that thumbs up! Because some hotels are not really that accommodating on request specially changing rooms and payment options. The only con is, hotel is quite old and for the past 2 yrs I have booked and stayed there for 3x, they don't seem to have done any major upgrades nor renovations yet. But I hope they do soon. I love the idea of walking to places instead of riding a cab.

Location: Parkview hotel is just 30mins from the airport via mrt or 20mins by taxi, 3 mins away from MRT, a minute away from Bus stop, and a minute away from sumptuous great singaporean foods! I specially love the idea of being able to have access to both affordable and fine dining meals easily.

Food: The best thing about this hotel is how it is located to Bugis, I love the foods in here! Although breakfast is served in the hotel, lunch and dinner is not (which is a norm) but you can still get your choices of food from cheap street foods/hawkers or you can go to pricey restau instead. Well for easy, fast and ready to eat foods. There is a food stall below Park View just besides it. For as low as 3SGD, you get a delicious chicken rice, or specialty duck rice, there is a hawker 5mins away which is Albert Complex, they have less than 5sgd foods here and they taste great. Or you can grab your comfort foods nearby, they have neighboring starbucks, mcdonalds, subway within the area. At night, you can enjoy unlimited steamboat dinner (its where you cook ur own food, like throw veggies, meat in, fry them or boil them).

Malls: There are plenty of malls in a 5mins walk, moreso on a 20mins walk but I would like to focus on the 5mins only, you can go to the Bugis Junction, Bugis + and Suntec Mall. If you wish to eat on the comfort of a mall, they have a choices of food on the lowerground foodcourt in Bugis Junction or on the 3rd flr level foodcourt. As well as in Suntec's food republic and SkyGarden.

NightLife and Restau: Chijmes is within a 15mins walk, it's a good place to chill at night..

And since its far away from busy and noisy nightlife of Clarkey, you can rest quiet at night but still enjoy the perks of being within the city center, whether it be for business trip, vacation or both. I think you could consider this hotel, given it's affordable price. Not bad for it's location :)
