Detailed Reviews
We just spent a month at Shangri-la Apartments, and it will now be our choice when we come to Singapore. The apartments are nicely furnished with everything you need. And if there is something missing, just ask the lovely staff. They'll make it happen. The apartments don't have individual washing machines, but there is a washer / dryer on each floor for guests. The gym at the hotel is very well equipped, and the pool there is available to apartment guests, although we preferred the more quiet pool at the apartments.
The apartments are a 10 minute walk to Orchard Road, Cold Storage grocery, and a wide variety of restaurants. To go a bit farther out, it is only a 30 minute walk to the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
The staff is of the highest level of courtesy and professionalism. And they're very friendly, too. We felt like we were leaving friends when we started our trip home.

We stayed here for 5 nights in March and had a good time. It’s great that you can access the main hotel next door where there is a beautiful staffed pool, restaurants, spa (fabulous massage-thanks Winnie!) and the best soft play centre we’ve ever been to!
The apartments themselves were clean and grand but very dated and need modernising. We had a two bedroom suite and I wouldn’t say it was very toddler friendly. All the doors locked with no way to unlock them from the other side, so we had to hang all the towels over the tops of the doors to stop our kids locking each other in. Lots of glass and marble surfaces. Small step into the bathrooms perfect for stubbing toes on. Kitchen could have been better stocked with crockery. The pool at the apartments is a good size and totally functional but again could do with modernising.
All the staff were warm and friendly, and the location is a 5 min stroll from Orchard road and its abundance of shops and restaurants.

We stayed here as we felt that having more space would be easier with two young children. The hotel itself is again very dated which shocked us a little due to the price you are paying. The staff are very helpful and ordered taxis when we requested them.
The facilities within the hotel such as having a washing machine and dryer in the basement which was free to use and didn't require any products is very helpful and was used often. There is also a washer and dryer on every floor but you need to supply the products for that one - which we didn't feel was viable for such a short stay.
Our 2 bed apartment was very spacious and well looked after by the housekeeping team. We weren't able to use the pool as this was down for maintenance but we did go to the hotel pool which was lovely but a little dated.
I would have preferred there to be less inconsistencys within the hotel for example one breakfast we had at the buffet we weren't charged for our 6 year old but for our second trip we were which was a little confusing.

+1
We stayed in the Shangri-La Serviced Apartments when we moved to Singapore from the UK. We were excited as we’ve stayed in Shangri-La hotels numerous times and the standard is extremely high.
Unfortunately this Serviced Apartments fell well below the brand standard. The decoration was dated and in desperate need to a refurbishment. The wallpaper was coming away from the walls, the furniture was old and stained and generally the whole place just needed a revamp.
The room was also very noisy. We could hear couples from adjoining rooms arguing and shouting long in to the night. To make matters worse there was a construction site right outside the hotel carrying out driven piling works. We were assured that works ended at 7pm daily but this was not the case and generally went on past 10pm every night. We have a young baby and asked to be moved to a room on the front to shield from the constant noise of construction but I was instantly told there were no other available rooms (no check was carried out). We were staying for 1 month and was told that if one became available we could move but that was the last we heard on the matter.
Lastly the Apartments had a pest problem. Every day there were hundreds of ants in and around the sink in the kitchen and bathroom. We reported the issue and pest control attended but it made no difference with the ants returning every day.
The staff on the whole were helpful and friendly.
We went over to the main hotel and it was stunning. It seems the Serviced Apartments have been forgotten and are in much need of some TLC.

Another super stay for one month with the family. Charlotte delivered as usual.
Everyone here is very nice and friendly.
Facilities are excellent and the housekeeping staff are very helpful and thorough.
Pool was never crowded and fresh towels available around the clock.
Book early to use the outdoor poolside BBQ area or like us you won’t be able to if you leave it last minute sad🤔

I stayed here for 6 nights with my family of 5 adults and 2 kids. We were very well looked after by the team and Shangri-La. From check in to check out everything was handled smoothly and professionally. It was was sister's birthday and the team surprised her with a bottle of wine, box of chocolates and cake to help her celebrate her birthday. Katherine Kho the Assistant Sales Manager went above and beyond to ensure that we had the most comfortable stay at the apartment. She was extremely professional and helpful from the time I made the 1st call to the hotel and spoke to her over the phone from NZ. She ensured that all the details of our stay were well noted and communicated. This was my first time experiencing a Shangri-La hotel and I must say that I was beyond impressed by the quality of the apartments and the facilities at the hotel. Its the staff at the apartments and the hotel that made me have a true 5 star experience. I will be back again in 2020!

We stayed for 4 nights and would recommend this hotel. Situated at the top of Orchard Road it is in a nice area. While 10/15 mins from the centre transport is easy with taxi or bus / sightseeing bus ( a 5min walk walk away on Orchard Road). Rooms very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Good gym facilities and pool area. Not that we required it but the hotel is set up with children’s areas. We were half board and the breakfast choices were from around the world - all you could eat and more. Service and choice of food in the foyer bar / restaurant excellent - waiting staff go out of their way to be helpful.

The location was very good for our family in that it is close to Orchard Road, but in a more peaceful location. We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment, which was spacious and clean. To be honest, the rooms are quite dated and I didn’t feel they lived up to the Shangrila standard. Singapore is a very humid place and one of the bedrooms had a distinct musty smell. The staff was outstanding though! Helpful, friendly and always went out of their way to help. Free laundry machines are also a benefit. The business center was very useful. The rooms need to be revamped, but the staff and amenities are 5 star.

I would like to complement the excellent service rendered by Ms Kat , the director of sales at the Shangri La apartments Singapore. She went out of her to help my guest who was booked at the apartment. She made a commitment to look into the request made by the guest, and she followed through professionally. It was indeed a great pleasure to have met her and both me and my guest, can’t thank her enough.

The apartments are well located, have a good pool and friendly staff. We had a really great time here. The one thing that disappointed us was that we thought we would have a DVD player - this is specified as part of the apartment but no! You have to book in advance apparently so if you want one order it when you book.
The amenities list needs to be amended!
Apart from that and the sometime lack of towels by the pool it is a good place to locate yourself for a visit to Singapore and we would recommend it and stay again.

No waiter service at the pool by the apartments. But there is at the main pool by the hotel. You can just give out your room number there and it will be charged to the apartments.
We're a young family as well and we've stayed at the apartments twice, both times doing some of the usuals - Sentosa, universal, zoo, botanical gardens, gardens by the bay. Your best bet is to call a taxi or Grab. Or the front desk can help you.
I think the botanical gardens (I highly recommend Jacob ballas children's garden) are the closest, but you can pretty much get anywhere comfortably by taxi/Grab.
