Admittedly, I'd just come from Manila where I'd been staying in a 5 star hotel, to this place where it's really only 1 or 2 star? The bathroom is rusty, the shower doesn't work properly, the warm water runs out after a few minutes. The TV (which is as small as an Ipad) only has very bad local stations, no...

I'm stay in this hotel for 6 days .. Experience was terrible... Water was licking from bathtub. Bathtub is very small .. Room was very small. No cleanses in room . I think they clean cloths once in a year it was smelling badly. Hotel located in red light area . It doesn't meet tourist requirement. I don't know why...

This hotel is quiet and clean and about 10 minutes from the train. Plenty of places to eat very close by. Friendly, helpful staff. We were told this was a seedy area but we found it to be quite ok - no fancy but quite safe.

We have previously stayed in Hotel 81 Princess and always found it to be a clean and comfortable place to stay.......Until this last time. I sent an email days before we arrived requesting a specific room, to which they say they did not receive. The room has no complimentaries (Like shower cap etc). The bathroom had toothpaste on the wall...

From where to start. The driver who picked me up from the airport told me with a bit of reservation that the hotel is not a very good area. Finally, he told me that the hotel is located in the neighborhood where you can pick up girls. I thanked him for telling me. The staff were kind, but I felt...

We stayed here for 3 nights and every night from 9:00 - 11:00 there was a huge ruckus in the hall outside our room. The front desk has video cameras of each hall and did nothing about the commotion. You have to remember this hotel is in the middle of the Red Light District so maybe the 2 are connected....

The room wasn't too small it was very ok as for the budget hotel. The lifts were very quick. Only the bathroom was a bit old and ugly. They provide you with coffee tea old mugs and a kettle. The area is ok and safe even though it's red light district.

Lets get a few things very straight at the first. In Singapore, Alcohol , Tobacco and Real Estate follow the exponential rules of mathematics when pricing themselves. This hotel is a budget hotel. So expect budget hotel stuff like small rooms and little washrooms. But It has the basic amenities are right in place. The towels and linen are clean,...

We had booked a double room with an extra bed. Since we arrived before check in, we left our luggage at the reception during the day, when we went out exploring the city. Returning at night, we checked in and got our room. Turned out that the extra bed was an old mattress that was to be placed on the...

Staying in Geylang

Neighbourhood Profile
Geylang
Only a short journey from Singapore’s sparkling and polished city centre, Geylang is a world away. Here in one of the least touristy areas of Singapore, visitors are privy to an unfiltered glimpse of Singapore life. On Sunday afternoons, migrant workers gather in Geylang to let off steam after a tough week. At the eastern end of Geylang Road, families and friends happily enjoy picnics. By contrast, at the western end, a more colourful side of Singapore can be seen, as street workers mingle with Sunday revelers in outdoor coffee shops. Take a friend, grab a beer and a local meal (frog porridge, perhaps?), and settle in to enjoy the show.
