This place really should be called the Polite Hotel. All the staff are just so nice. Every one of them. I really wish it can stay that way. Location is good (for me anyway) and great eats all around. Rooms are small and basic. Could do with more bedding. Be careful with online booking and room descriptions. I booked one...

This is a nice cosy hotel with 2 min walk to the Rochor MRT. Very conveniently located to move around and close to some of the good Indian restaurants. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. we loved the housekeeping and were happy to see the room condition whenever we returned back to the hotel. You may not have any...

If this 'hotel' was $100-/night cheaper, then perhaps my review would be kinder... BUT..... to be told at reception on arrival with great pride by staff that ..'you are lucky today as we are giving you an UPGRADE at no extra cost!'and then to be led up four flights of stairs to second floor and proudly ushered into a box...

Small rooms but this we expected. The place was simple and clean. 1 minute walk to mrt. Was fine for us wanting to spend all day out and about exploring Singapore. Staff were friendly at helpful. Good simple breakfast. Only negative was the thinnest blanket ever

Avoid it! Looks very nice on the homepage but: - no elevator - loud - very bright in the night. No curtains in the room - no WiFi in the room - a micro bath room - no hot water. Only a flow water heater in the shower. Strange cancellation policy. No refund in case of early checkout. Too expensive...

Let's get the negatives out of the way. Smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. For one person it probably would have been okay. The only time ever I have ever had to put my suitcase right next to my bed just to allow me ample room to move around. Forget about watching TV, unless you like watching Malaysian...

Simple room, small window, super compact bathroom. My husband couldn't even fit and close the door. Service was friendly and good. Breakfast is good and simple. Only problem is there is a need of refundable deposit of 60 or 90 SGD and that was not expected. Close to Dhoby Gaut station about 6-7 mins walk. Not much closed by. No...

Location (4/5): The location of the hotel is really good. Just next to Rochor MRT station and 20 minutes walk to the Orchard road/Bugis. Staff (5/5): The staffs were really friendly and helpful; always there for assistance. Room (3.5/5): The Room was small but nice and clean. The bathroom was really tiny; it was just OK. Every night I could...

Stayed for 3 nights - the room and bathroom was extremely tiny. The shower had a curtain instead of a shower door which made it extremely difficult to shower. Tiny little insects in the bed and bathroom. No lift, have to carry your own bags. Breakfast was very simple and nothing to write home about. I could have stayed in...

This hotel is for backpackers looking to spend most of the day outdoors and just need a room to sleep in. Located close enough to downtown Singapore which is a plus with lots of cheap food options nearby.

Staying in Little India

Neighbourhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly coloured saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colourful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Centre, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colourful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
