I stayed in this hostel for 1 night and I swear I will NEVER come back. First, the check in time is not on time, I already got the key 4.30 pm which is normally any hostels else let you check in at least 3 pm. Second, the staffs is so unkind and not helpful. The worst is the bathroom...

I don't like to give negative reviews, especially after traveling for 6 months you come to not expect a lot, but I felt compelled to make a comment here. The hostel itself serves a purpose, the location is good and safe, and it's a bed to sleep in. My personal experience of the staff was not very good, unwelcoming, unhappy...

Very unfriendly personnel, tiny rooms and no lockers. Breakfast is just bread, jam and margarine, self service and it's in quite revolting situation. Very bad price performance ratio. Stay away from this place, even for budget traveling. Pay a few dollars more and stay somewhere better.

Small hostel that offers reasonable value for money. The breakfast is included but don’t expect too much from it as it is only some bread, jam and tea. The rooms are clean and have lockers and hangers but the beds are quite wiggly and unstable.

One of the last places available for NYE. A bit expensive for what u get but considering the late booking and the fact it was NYE I guess it was fair. Great location. Staff seem surprised or awkward or something when I spoke to them. That was a little off putting. Maybe my accent is difficult to understand. Room was...

I have no idea why this place have such good reviews. Rooms are tiny, sheets were dirty and used, staff changed sheets after longer discussion. Bathrooms and toilets probably never seen detergents, and never been cleaned. For breakfast were toasts, old jam, and very old margarine. Honestly: It was the worse place I've ever slept. I cancelled 2nd reservation.

Upon entering this hostel there at large banners advertising $18.00 a night beds. When you get to the desk to ask about their special, you are quickly pointed to the new prices which are $35.00 a night. At that point, most people walk out. I negotiated a discounted price. The room and beds are very clean and nice, but then...

Having a total of 4 toilets (one of which is in a shower and constantly wet) all next the reception and none on the second floor where our room was, we dreaded every single walk to the loo. Other people must have thought the same, but didn't bother making their way down to the toilets, but rather used the shower...

Singapore accommodation is rather expensive, especially for families, so we decided to try a stay here with our 2 kids - probably wouldn't do it again (no reflection on the backpacker) We arrived early and they kindly allowed us into our 4 bed dorm. The aircon worked well and the room was clean. The shower area was reasonably clean, as...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
