All Singapore Chinatown hotels have 'compact' rooms. The Inn at Temple Street has one major advantage: location. Chinatown MRT station is only a few paces away, and a few paces in the opposite direction is Smith Street and the Chinatown Complex- culinary nirvana. Our room had A/C that did a good job without being noisy, a good sized shower, and...

My husband and I checked in late as we had a late arrival to Changi. We booked for one week. Our first room was damp and mouldy, and smelt like mould to the point where our throats started to be affected. Asked reception to change our room but they were at full capacity our first night and advised we could...

We stayed there during the Chinese New Year celebrations. The hotel was more or less fully booked but it remained very quiet. We were very satisfied and had only two remarks for improvement. One is the missing socket in the bathroom - shaving gives a problem. The other one is the missing little place where people who fly at night...

I had room with a queen bed booked via Agoda. It said that the room had a city view, never thought that a wall is considered a city view, but that was okay for me. When I first entered the room it was warm humid and musky damp smell. Room is carpeted and quite damp, the aircon cannot be adjusted...

An overnight stay in Singapore. Arriving at hotel at 2am and leaving again at 9am to go to a meeting in financial area and then leaving Singapore, I dint want to pay $400+ for a hotel. The Inn did the job. Good location (in Chinatown, not far from financial area) and adequate room and facilities.

If anyone looks back on all my hotel reviews over the last ten years you probably would say "oh she likes everything and everywhere they have stayed" and the answer to that is an unequivocal YES. I say that because I do my homework. I read dozens of different reviews from different sites before I give my credit card number...

I asked for a room with a window and was assigned 217, the largest single in the hotel. I was nicely surprised by the good size of the room and large bathroom, all very clean with the air-con already cool when I arrived. Other great things were the strong WiFi signal, strong shower, great air-conditioning (easy to operate). Also, there...

My husband & I stayed here for 4 nights. Our luggage got lost at the airport and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean enough (except for the shower screen), but it was very small. The toilet was positioned awkwardly in our bathroom, your knees would hit the showerscreen if you sat on it normally! Located in...

Room was very small, but the location was awesome. Just a few steps away from the metro, all kinds of Chinese restaurants at your door step. Maxwell food court, at the end of Temple street, and a big temple also right at end of Temple street, street hawkers close by. No elevators, difficult to get luggage on upper floors

Great location in Chinatown, walking distance to many atractions, but exactly because of the location, impossible to sleep without earplugs, and the walls were paper thin so you could hear everything...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
