Having read some of the reviews (after booking) I was a bit worried about staying here.... However, the whole experience was great!!! Reception staff friendly and welcoming. The reception area is all red with dark wood, which was interesting. I guess it would be a love or loathe - personally I lived it. Reception staff helped with sightseeing bus tour...

Small but nice, clean room. Strategic location near MRT, food court, souvenir shops, 7 eleven, clarke quay. Location in heart of chinatown so in a walking distance you can find Hindu's temple, Budha's temple, Tintin Store. The hotel rate also affordable. But, now the hotel doesn't serve breakfast anymore.

The hotel staff were polite and helpful who show us our room location and help to carry our baggage. The location was very near to MRT chinatown station. You have no problem to find any food around as there are so many eateries. The room was small but you get what you pay for. We were given complimentary breakfast coupon....

I was staying in the hotel for 3 nights. It was right in the center of China town so restaurants and shops are all around it, which was perfect for a tourist like me. The room was quite small, but was clean and cosy. I personally do not satisfy 100% with the hotel staffs, people in front like bell man...

The staff were friendly and accommodating. They even kept my father's luggage after check out hours because his flight was later in the evening. Thank you for that. My only comment is that the hotel lobby is so dark and almost looks haunted or depressing. But i guess that's vibe of this hotel branch.

The Santa Grand is full of character and the staff were really helpful. The location is great as it is so near to the metro and to Chinatown food street. Its not a luxury hotel but its particularly nice. The staff is speaking English well and its very professional. They always try to help their customers.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
