We were staying at Porcelain Hotel for many times. Even if the room space is small, but the location is good, near to Chinatown MRT Station. It's a good choice for couple traveller, but i dont think will be good for family or couple with kids because the room is small. Somehow i enjoy my stay there and will be...

We came across this hotel online and during this trip, since we are going to be a little bit adventurous so we decided to try out this hotel instead, it is located right next to the main road and within 5 minute walk to Chinatown MRT station, getting here is not hard and in fact quite convenient for traveler, It...

This hotel offer very small but efficiently sized rooms in Chinatown. They are designed for traveller looking to only sleep after and spend most of the day outside the room. Location is great as it is in Chinatown and near the MRT station. Lots of food options nearby and a short walk to the Merlin Lion.

Stayed over night when i was traveling from Sri Lanka to Australia and it’s not to far from the Airport. The rooms are very small but clean like I said good for a night or two. It’s a great place to stay if you: • Love chill crab • Home made dumplings • ABC Stout beer, ok any beer •...

I stayed there previously when it first opened many years ago and had wonderful memories enough to make me want to stay again. Granted, I knew the rooms were small but cozy enough for a single traveller that only needed a bed and an excellent location, which it did have. It was sad though, as the hotel didn't do a...

Fire alarm went off at 3am in the morning. God help if it was a real fire as no staff present. People just going back to their rooms as no communication. Rooms small but adequate. Bed is comfy. Good bathroom. 2nd floor is really noisy, so try and avoid. Staff helpful at reception desk but never answer the guest services...

I chose this hotel because of the large discount that is listed on booking.com. It turned out that I was hooked! Reduced price is actually real. The hotel is clean and has friendly staff. The location is great, near the Chinese city with lots of street restaurants. And yes, the cheapest Michelin-star restaurant is really close :) Metro is also...

I had booked the second to best category of room, and if I was a 20 something backpacker it would have been great. Unfortunately those days are long behind me. The first version of the room I was given was small but well thought out except that the mattress was basically on the floor. Not great for getting in and...

Low quality. First room I had was disgustingly dirty...stained sheets, bathroom floors & walls layers of scum & slime, paper thin walls & OPEN air vent to outside bringing in street noise & heat. Second room slightly "cleaner", less disgusting ... No window...I asked and every room with window had the open air vent. Paper thin walls, I could hear...

I stayed here because of the price and the location. Both were excellent. I stayed in room 301 a single. It is at the back of the building and was really quiet, however my friend was at the front of the building and did get some street noise. The room has no cupboard space, only 2 hangers, there was ample...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
