This was a great place to stay for the hike at the Batad Rice Terraces. We, 6 adults and 7 teenagers, arrived at night and it was about a 45 minute walk from where we parked. The route was very narrow, with some areas being only single file, and we had to use flashlights because the path is not lit. The route is also on the side of a mountain so you must be aware of where you are walking. We had to leave non-essentials in our vehicle but we did have help carrying some gear from the guides working at the Inn. The Inn is on the side of the mountain as well and there are some great views overlooking the rice terraces once the sun comes up. The Inn and Restaurant itself was small and the rooms were as well. It had about 9 them if I recall correctly. The upstairs rooms are full and queen sized beds and the downstairs rooms are bunk beds. There are 2 toilets, one in the restaurant and one upstairs, and 2 showers, one downstairs and one in the restaurant. Only the downstairs shower had hot water when we stayed. The meals were separate and were not included in the price of the rooms. I suggest placing your order ahead of time because the food does take some time to be prepared. There is also no air conditioning or fans in the rooms, but since they are located high in the mountains, it was relatively cool at night and I did not feel hot on the bed. The next day we went off on the hike through the Batad Rice Terraces and to Tappiya Falls. Highland Inn provided us with one of the guides from the night before that helped us get to the hotel. Be warned, this is not an easy hike. There was a great deal of stairs and some areas you have to be much more cautious because there was nothing to help you stay steady. Balance is essential on this hike as well as being reasonably healthy/fit. There was no time limit but I suggest getting back before dark. We left early in morning around 8:30 and came back around 1PM. We also put our orders for lunch in then so when we came back it was ready to be served. Overall a great experience thanks to the kind and helpful people at the Highland Inn and Restaurant. I would definitely recommend them to other travelers looking to have an enjoyable time at the Batad Rice Terraces.

Magnificent ambience, good hearted people, an unforgettable journey to the Ifugao province ... and if only I could come back immediately to the same place, I won't hesitate to get my backpack ready now. Highland Inn and Restaurant staff are very friendly and accommodating. The family who owns the property, treated me like a part of them all. I admire how the brothers Leemas, Ferdinand, Morris _ run their business by being industrious and cooperative and more so, their parents. I give double thumbs up for the cleanliness of the facilities especially the comfortable though basic bedrooms. Great value for money! However, the inn is quite far from the drop off point in Batad. The distance from the property to the viewpoint is tolerable. Going down to the Tappiya Falls is not really an easy task. After all, it is adventure that we seek and enjoy in a journey. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the wholesome taste of the foods that they prepare on the spot, and again I'd like to mention _ although basic Filipino cuisine, the ingredients they use are fresh and nutritious especially their own harvest of organic Ifugao rice. One of the great things I miss in Highland Inn and Restaurant. Guys out there, I really miss your home away from the noise, congestion and pollution of modern cities. No doubt, I will be back again, and hopefully with my family members by that time. Congratulations to your homey guest house!
