We booked two rooms for an extended stay over Easter. The rooms are comfortable and clean with the only challenge being the glass walled bathroom. There are tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water every day. Just ask the lady who cleans the rooms if you need anything else e.g. extra soap, toilet paper etc. We had a list...

Has been a great place to stay, just a ten minute walk from Wan Chai station, through some interesting places in the district. Great if you want to head into the City, or over the river on the Star Ferries. Lots of little shopping places within a few blocks. Great for a solo traveller.

This is the place to stay when you're out and about the whole day and need somewhere clean and comfy to sleep. I dont think you'd find anything cheaper and cleaner in Hong Kong especially if you're staying just a few nights.

To fully appreciate the JJ, you need to keep it in context. In other words, for around US$80 (give or take), you get to stay in a clean, comfortable (but not luxurious), well-run hotel in the absolute heart of one of the world's most expensive cities. Indeed, I would say hotels like the JJ are tough to find. We stayed...

This is our first time staying in this place, having managed to obtain a very good deal back in July last year. Although it looks relatively unremarkable from the outside, being situated inside a multi-purpose building, called Lucky Centre on 9-13 floors, we were amazed by the standard of our room on the 12 floor, with free WiFi and complimentary...

The room was very clean one small mark on a curtain but big deal. The room like many of this price was small but more than adequate. Food was very nice in and well priced in the restaurant, 2 courses for 100 HKD and 2 free beers thrown in was good. Free internet was also good. I will stay here...

Stayed here as part of our honeymoon before heading on to bali (were most of our money was spent!). The location is good, only 10min walk to the local metro station. The room was very clean and tidy and suited our needs as our 'base'.

We stayed 3 nights at the JJ Hotel in March. The hotel has an ideal location on Wanchai, Hong Kong island close to 2 MTR stations and the Star Ferry pier. Ideally located for seeing Hong Kong, much preferred the HK Island location to Kowloon. Hong Kong is wonderful, we could have easily stayed another 2 nights and not run...

We were looking for an inexpensive option to stay in Hong Kong on our 3-day stop-over on our way from the Philippines to Toronto. At US $75 per night, we did not expect much from a 2-star hotel in the centre of Hong Kong. However, the room turned out to be very clean, bright, decent size, modern and renovated (even...

I paid $60 (2,800 Philippine Pesos) for a night's stay in JJ Hotel. Since the hotel occupies only 4 floors of a high-rise building (other levels have mahjong clubs and offices), I did not expect much. The elevator going to the 9th floor (reception area) was tiny; and the reception itself looked like a small office--manned by just one person....

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
