We booked a room here because it was the cheapest we could find online, we didn't really expect anything. I was surprised to find a building and one unit filled with small rooms. The rooms were small but not so bad. The staff were not really organized as we were transferred rooms 3 times in 2 days because they said...

I walked around a bit before I found my hostel - Chungking Mansions. I read a lot of negative reviews about the place being dodgy and "unsafe", so I was concerned. But upon reaching the place, it wasn't scary at all. People were bothered of the Indian men hustling around the neighborhood - I actually found them rather lively and...

I have gone to hong kong in 2015 its very expensive to live and eat its more expensive then singapore... I have not reserve a room there and on spot its so high rate. Always reserve your stay in advance if u are going to hong kong because tourism is higher then other countries.

We had mistakenly booked our hotel here. It was very smelly but the things sold here are cheap so it's okay for a traveler with a tight budget. My friends and I were a little bit scared because when we were about to enter the place , everyone was looking at us and they were like "Hi Miss Beautiful" "Ganda"...

Stayed here for a couple of days with my friend and was satisfied. Wifi is good but cuts out occasionally, Air con and the fan work great. Seemed like a safe area but was offered drugs frequently, water was only hot for a short period of time and the shower and toilet were kind of merged into one. My main...

Chungking Mansions is a lot cleaner and safer than it has ever been. That is more of a testament of how bad it was rather than what its like now. The external has been renovated and it blends in so much more so it no longer stands out like a sore thumb. Well worth a visit to the ground floor...

It appears there are tons of hostels within the Chung King Mansion. Which we found quite confusing as when we booked our hotel it said Singapore Hostel but on arrival the floor we were on listed about 3 other hostels, plus the amenities such as soaps and tooth brushes had a different name on it. Besides all of the confusion,...

It was cheap and very near a MRT exit. It was in the middle of everything. A short walk from the entrance of the building to the elevator meant you will see dozens of stores selling cheap electronics and various food. There is also a money changer, clothing shop, grocery, perfume retail store, and many others.. There was many people...

Myself and my partner stayed at the Peace Guesthouse in Chunking from 19th - 21st September 2015. It was an interesting stay to say the least! Trying to find budget accommodation in Hong Kong is difficult and it lead us to this brilliant and crazy place. There are 100's of hostels located in this mansion which are all the same....

Nothing has changed since I last visited it 23 years ago other than the gaudy neon sign on the front which is no longer prominent. I choose a great place on booking.com called Asia Inn. Highly recommended. Clean, friendly, free bottled water and 24hr check in. Mind you the room was tiny. And I mean TINY.
