Rooms are very small, but only for sleeping is ok. Air condition must run the hole day. If off, in the room is a very mustily smell. I think, this is owed to the high humidity in HK: Bad is small and must be renewed. You see everywhere chipped color and messy silicon fugues. No German TV programm like Deutsche...

First and foremost I would like to thank the staff at the Empire Hotel Wan Chai for a wonderful and comfortable stay at the hotel. From the time we checked-in to the time we checked-out the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating for any and all of our requests. The property is quite beautiful with a spacious reception area and...

We were looking for a moderately priced hotel near the MTR and this hotel checked those boxes. It was a short walk to the MTR Wan Chai stop and an even shorter two block walk to the Ding Din Tram (great mode of transportation) another nice feature was the Airport Express shuttle stop outside the hotel. Staff wasn't exceptionally friendly...

I wanted to find a hotel near the Exhibition Center, but actually it is not that near. The room was dirty and ultra small. Usualy I go To the Miramoon hotel, and I have to confesss that I should have taken this hotel instead. Breakfast is in a very poor and bad quality. The amount of choice is very small....

There were some problems with my room on checking in which the staff resolved. Upon moving rooms I noticed a designer scarf was missing from my belongings and I wrongly accused housekeeping of taking it. After reviewing security tapes for two days they were able to see that I had dropped it in a hallway when moving rooms....and the scarf...

Spent 6 nights at the Empire Hotel Wan Chai, late September early October. Oddly I did not find any of the negative reports listed here during my stay. For the price paid, I am very satisfied. Arrived via AirportExpress shuttle. Very fast from Hong Kong station. As friendly a reception as any American hotel (excluding Las Vegas). Extra security abounded....

Had earlier reported that the receptionist was cold. Was pleasantly surprised when the hotel responded the next day to my review. Well done to the hotel team for the immediate response! Received a nice fruit platter. Thank you.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room with blackout curtains and a quiet air con. Nice attention to detail like both soft and hard pillow options. Also really liked the Jasmine smelling scented oil flower in the bathroom. The Handy phone is useful and saves you money not having to buy a local sim for calls and internet while out exploring...

First time trying the hotel, great value for the money, very nice rooms, good staff - Chrisholm was especially helpful in find running routes), and a phone to use. Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
