Im actually checked in last Monday for a business trip and its now my 5th day here. Its kind of a basic hotel based on my experience. Several hotel sites mentioned that this hotel is a 4-star hotel but doesnt feel that way to me. The room I stayed in is actually small. TV has very limited channels and mostly... More

The location is superb, room was small but since we are talking about Hong Kong it was totally okay! A tip: Even if you`re busy you should go to the convention center which is 5 minutes away by walk, where you can have a great view over both central disctrict and Tsim Sha Tsui. Breakfast was not that good but... More

The Hotel is not new. Not old, but not new. It supposed to be renovated soon, but till that time you will meet some strange things, like service hols in WC walls and etc. Service reacted fast and are polite. Gym and swimming pool are located on 21st floor, but working hours from 7:30- 7:30 does not fit to gusts.

If you are looking for a hotel in the centre close to all the bars. clubs, restaurants etc this is the one for you. The area of Wanchai comes alive at night. The hotel itself is adequate but not luxurious, Im not sure about it's 4 star rating. Our room was small and quite cramped as was the bathroom. The... More

Great room, small but comfortable and well fitted out.The WI-FI was fair and the check out and in efficient and quick; Staff very friendly but here we end. The pool closes at 7.30pm so not much use if your on business, The breakfast is poor and not helped by the school room setting. But all in all the location is... More

Stayed here less than 24 hours as it was a last minute booking without much thought. Good: 1. The location is great, 5mins walk from MTR and another 5mins in opposite direction to Wanchai's bustling night life 2. The beds are very comfy 3. You have the Frying Pan behind the hotel...for any breakfast fans, this is the place to... More

We recently stayed twice in one month at The Empire and were very satisfied with our choice. On both occasions all the staff we dealt with were extremely professional, efficient and helpful. After arriving on early flights, we were very grateful to be allowed access to our rooms well before the official check-in time. The hotel is very conveniently located... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
