Hotel is a few minutes from the subway. The room was fairly small and everything was outdated. The front desk was very attentive and almost everyone spoke fluent English. The subway system (MTR) is very sophisticated and convenient thus making getting around fairly simple.

It’s one of the highest density districts in the world, so come to Mong Kok prepared for action. Home to every market, restaurant and shopping arcade imaginable, Mong Kok is the one-stop shop to satisfy all your shopping needs. Dust off your finest negotiation skills and dive into the bartering frenzy. Similar retailers will conveniently congregate in the same area forming easy to remember references such as
“flower street” and “sneakers street.” Here you will also find various local delicacies being served at street snack shops or hole-in-the-wall restaurants. One reliable rule of thumb: the smaller the place, the better the food.

Yes, It's about HKD 300 for Taxi.
However, if you don't have much luggage, you may want to roll over like 5-6 blocks away, to a City bus number #A21 stop across the Bank Center on Nathan Road. It costs only HKD 33 to airport. Rolling on Nathan Road is very common.
Or, you can take the same City bus A21 right in front of the hotel for two stops to "7. Bank Center" , just walk across the street, which costs HKD 49.50 (same day return to airport costs like HKD33 + HKD33*50% off) ?
Of course, if you have more than 3 people, then may be it's worth to talk the taxi.
Sorry, couldn't include HTML link. You can google HK City bus A21 to/from airport. Hope this helps.
