5 Nights in a Harbour View Room. Nineteenth floor.
My second stay in recent weeks at a Grand Hyatt (following Melbourne) and it was an equally rewarding experience. The diligence, care and consideration of the associates at the Grand Hyatt is second to none : from Tyra's welcome at check-in through to our departure, it made our time so much more special.
The room was spacious with a large, wide window made for spectacular views on to the harbour. Great to sit on the couch with a drink and watch the activity below. The window blinds are electronic and very practical but lovely to sleep when raised and be able to look out onto the harbour ; such a unique experience. The room was immaculate, well presented with beautiful linens and large bathtub. We particularly liked the shower as there was no fiddling to get the ideal temperature ; just turn on and hey presto. Very comfortable bed ; I normally prefer a softer bed but this was perfect. Not too soft and not too firm ; made for good sleep in a quiet room.
In-Room Dining was excellent although rather pricey ( as expected ). Great choice and a variety of well prepared food. Chose not to eat at the hotel as there are so many options in HK but I would love to next time I stay. Perhaps an ungraded TV would be welcome, but there are a wide choice of channels and it is far from a criticism on my part; after all there are much better things to do than watch TV.
The swimming pool was undergoing renovation (which I was made aware of prior to booking) but It's a large clean, comfortable space, with pool that has a deep end, therefore something I would be keen to experience in the future. HK is a great place but I can imagine a couple hours relaxed at the pool after some sight-seeing would be very welcome in such surroundings. I would imagine it very hard for other hotels to replicate what is on offer there.
The hotel is minutes from Wan Chai ferry port and MTR so the location is quiet and very practical. Easy to get to Kowloon and elsewhere so the light show from the Avenue Stars is a must although hectic . It was great to go down to the harbour by the convention centre and walk across to central (about 20 mins). Everywhere is so clean and organised, even allowing for construction which is everywhere in HK. The top hotels in Kowloon on the harbour seemed far more crowded in far busier areas so very pleased I chose the Grand Hyatt.
Thank you to all for making our stay so special.

Dear AzzzK, Thank you for choosing to stay at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and we are thrilled to have delivered you an experience deserving of your 5-bubbles rating. It is very gratifying to read your detailed review sharing standout aspects ranging from the attentive and impeccable service from our team, in particular from Trya at Front Desk; well-appointed room with striking spaciousness, comfortable beddings for quality sleep, excellent shower facilities, and in addition, the room is indeed the perfect vantage point to view the vibrant activities and breath-taking view of the iconic Victoria Harbour; Room Service menu that offers a wide variety of delicious options to cater to all tastes; and great recreational facilities including a 50-metre heated outdoor pool. Our hotel being in the heart of the iconic Victoria Harbour with close proximity to major transportation links like the MTR and Star Ferry while ideally away from the hustle and bustle of the city makes us an excellent destination to experience the perfect balance of comfort and convenience. We are very happy that you also found this to be an appealing factor over other hotels. Once again, our heartfelt gratitude for your glowing review that recognizes Grand Hyatt Hong Kong to be the perfect hotel choice and we look forward to many more opportunities to welcome your return. The main purpose of my stay this time was to watch the fireworks. After asking, all the restaurants in Hong Kong where you can watch the fireworks are fully booked. Staying at the Grand Hyatt to watch the fireworks is the best decision. Although the check-in time was a little late and the high-rise sea view rooms were full, the enthusiastic staff still arranged a sea view room for me and my family that was not occupied by the convention and exhibition center. There are a variety of dining options in the room, including delicious steaks, pot stickers, and sweet and sour pork. Looking at Victoria Harbor, we enjoyed a sumptuous dinner. Housekeeping was attentive and provided children's toiletries for my 7 year old daughter. The fireworks at 8 o'clock were dazzling, accompanied by the incongruous sound of firecrackers and shocking beauty. Although fireworks are fleeting, they bring wishes and hope. I wish that the new year will cleanse your tired soul and bring you peace, satisfaction, happiness and health. The breakfast the next day was also amazing.

Visited the Grand Hyatt just before Christmas as a repeat guest. This hotel is run like a well-oiled machine and is very consistent over the years. It's aging gracefully, and all of the staff provide professional and helpful service.
Pros: --Well designed rooms that make good use of space --Nice views of Central and Kowloon from many rooms --Good service overall and especially at the Grand Club lounge (shout out to Scott in particular!) --Grand Club views, food spreads and Ruinart Champagne make this one of the best Hyatt lounges in the world
Cons: --Slightly out-of-Central location means you're taking a short car ride to get anywhere --Old school design (but very well maintained); bathrooms could use a double vanity
Note for Hyatt elites: Generally you can expect a room with views but upgrades to suites are tough. If you have Globalist status, the club access is a fantastic benefit. But you're not offered complimentary breakfast in the restaurant. Late check out is granted without hesitation and early check-in usually accommodated too.
For Hyatt loyalists this hotel is an easy no-brainer, but there are newer and more central (and more expensive) options at other luxury hotels.

We spent 5 nights in a Grand Executive Harbour Suite (used a Suite Upgrade Award to upgrade from a 1 King Bed) at a cash rate of 2,992 HKD per night.
Location 4/5: The GH is located adjacent to the HK Convention / Exhibition Center, so great if you’re in town for something there. Otherwise, it’s close to the Exhibition Center and Wan Chai Metro stops – about 10 minutes’ walk to either. If you get a room with Harbour view then you’ll have a great view of the Harbour and the Kowloon skyline.
Cleanliness 5/5: Spotless. Both the room and the common areas.
Service 5/5: Excellent service everywhere, from the club, to housekeeping, to front desk. They make you feel like a valued guest. Above and beyond: housekeeping noticed that I had a wireless mouse next to my laptop on the table and brought a mouse pad.
Room 4/5: The Suite is very nice, but I believe there’s a bit of a design flaw in that the bathtub is too big and situated in the wrong place. I think they could have built a toilet where the shower is, and had a shower / bathtub combo to save space, so that they cold also have a guest toilet. Otherwise, it’s very good, with great sleep comfort.
Common areas 4/5: Old school luxury lobby, everything kept neat and clean.
Value for Money 5/5: For the rate we paid, excellent for HK standards, given the level of luxury and service, and the fact that we got an upgrade to a suite.
Bonus points for sustainable practices: Nothing worth mentioning.

If you can, book a room with Harbour View. I noticed as I walked into the room how beautiful the room design was and the incredible view of the harbor. And the more I spent time in the room, the more I realized how well appointed it was. We had 3 luggage and there was enough space that there wasn't a need to use the floor or have these be in the way of the walking path in the room. There is a lot of counter space and the bathroom is so spacious and felt luxurious, as well as practical. All the lights and curtains are automatic and the buttons are marked helpfully in English. There were days where we took a rest in the afternoon due to jet leg and it was very relaxing looking out the big windows at the harbor and watch the boats go by; felt very zen like.
The hotel can get busy during the day but the staff all around were nice and attentive. Reception and Fitness Center staff were especially great. We stayed here again at the end of our trip before heading home, this time without Harbour View. We didn't get any sort of upgrade as returning customers but to be fair, it was around New Year's Eve and I'm sure the best rooms with the harbor view were booked. And the hotel is so close to the harbor that all we needed to do was step out of the building and still be able to enjoy the fireworks and not have to content with the crowd. Room Service was fast and delicious but expensive. One Harbour Road restaurant was also expensive (like many other nice places in Hong Kong) but we had a fabulous family dinner here. Location is excellent. Dynasty Restaurant next door was also fantastic. Tsim Sha Tsui is only a couple train stops away and Wan Chai is within walking distance.
I gave it 4 stars only because I've been to some truly exceptional hotels around the world. I would have to say this is one of the best hotels in Hong Kong and you won't be disappointed.

Dear mikrokosmos228, We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for a detailed review of your experience at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. We really appreciate your acknowledgement of our various efforts. Our hotel is indeed in a perfect location to capture breathtaking view of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong skyline from our well-appointed room truly adds to charm to the experience. Additionally, our close proximity to this iconic harbor also makes accessibility to watch the fireworks display near the waterfront another ideal option. Providing exceptional hospitality has always been our core purpose, and it is very assuring to hear that the team, notably from Reception and Fitness Centre have impressed you with their attentive and personalized service. Regarding your dining experiences, we are glad to hear you enjoyed the food and service from both Room Service and our Chinese restaurant - One Harbour Road but regret that the pricing did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is very important to us as it helps us have a better understanding of guest experience and also guides in our ongoing efforts to ensure our esteemed guest find the best value for money in our offerings. Locationwise, we are centrally located within walking distance to nearby local attractions and Tsim Sha Tsui on the other side of the harbor is only a few stops away taking the Wan Chai MTR. Once again, thank you very much for your awesome endorsement of Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and we look forward to welcoming you back soon for another exceptional experience. Best regards, Mark M. I stayed at both the Renaissance and the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on the same trip and for about $500 HKD more per night, the Grand Hyatt is a far superior hotel and well worth it. The two properties actually share the same large pool on the 11th floor, but the standard rooms at the Grand Hyatt are much larger, the beds are more comfortable, and the property in a much better condition.
The staff at the GH Hong Kong were incredibly helpful and kind. We arrived at 9am from a long international journey. It was well before standard check-in time, but they were kind enough to let us into 3 out of 4 of our rooms and have breakfast in the Grand Club. It really set us up for an excellent stay.
The staff in the lounge is exceptional, very attentive and helpful. The Club Lounge is beautiful, with breakfast, tea, and cocktail hour to match. The breakfast spread was gorgeous with fresh Cantonese dim sum, daily specials and regional fruits, while the cocktail hour is pretty much a dinner spread. Honestly, you could get by with eating all your meals just in the Club Lounge if you stayed here - not that I recommend it as you are in Hong Kong after all and there is so much to eat in this city!
We were a family of 4 and had connecting rooms (1 king to 2 twins). The rooms are large, with high end, useful and well thought out features - like a table with two dining chairs up against a banquette so that 4 people can actually sit around. The lighting is also really well done with a night light function that has just the right amount of light so that you can share the room comfortably with another person and not disturb them in the middle of the night.
The facilities on the 11th floor are an oasis in this city. The pool is 50 meters with a deep end! There is also a playground (more suited for younger children). It is such a retreat from the hustle and bustle from the streets below.

As expected of an established five-star hotel, the service is superb, especially the room manager Alex Law. On the first day of our stay, my husband was bitten by mosquitoes and asked the front desk for mosquito coils. The waiter came to deliver them immediately and soon Alex came to confirm whether my husband was allergic. He suggested upgrading our room to a sea view room. At the same time, he thoughtfully changed the bedding to non-feather material and gave us a fruit plate. He was very nice and reminded us that we could contact him at any time to change the bedding if it was uncomfortable. The room was very comfortable, with a panoramic view of the entire Victoria Harbour. We could also add an extra bed for the child for free. We stayed for a few more days. The afternoon tea and swimming pool were also great. The service of Grand Hyatt added warmth and pleasure to our family's trip to Hong Kong. We will stay here again next time! In addition, it is very close to the visa center. If you come to apply for a Chinese visa, you can choose Grand Hyatt first!

The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, which is located not too convenient for pedestrians between two major roads, but still close to Wan Chai and Exhibition Centre MTR stations, as well as Wan Chai Star Ferry Pier, left a very positive impression after all.
Welcome was friendly and effective, our very clean, well-maintained and spacious Suite room was tastefully decorated and offered a unique view on Victoria Harbour. The bathroom was great with a nice shower and a huge bath tub.
A special surprise was the welcome gift - a bottle of Prosecco accompanied by a hand-written card.
Another star of the property was the Club Lounge with an all-day free flow of Ruinart champagne, and an amazing selection and quality of dinner as well as breakfast products. Service was friendly and very effective, even though their work was a little noisy at times, which made the atmosphere less relaxing.
All over the place, the team was very friendly at all times, which deserves special praise. Especially, during evening cocktail hours at the lounge, the team showed a very high pace and, at the same time, an extremely guest-centred as well as proactive approach despite almost crowded conditions.
Still, even for just one night, we were fully convinced and would definitely consider a return.

Grand Hyatt offered a grand panoramic view of the bay with a full glass wall, which was the window (stayed in Room 2818 from Nov 24 thru Dec 7, 2024). With tall skyscrapers on the island across the bay and continuous ferries, barges, and speed boats crisscrossing the islands, and occasional helicopters landing at the convention center helipad below, it was serene and beautiful to watch from the soundproof room. The night view was mesmerizing, with lights turned on in all the skyscrapers and the lights from the tourist ferries shimmering in the dark waters. Apart from the view, a major reason for selecting the hotel is because of its large rooms. (We had stayed at Room 2515 before which was also large and offered a non-ending view of the bay). With a dining table/desk along with a reclining sofa near the window, it was ideal for catching up on office work as well as enjoying the view. Starting from the morning newspapers to the evening turn downs, we appreciated the efforts of the whole housekeeping team, particularly Poppy, for their attention to detail, keeping everything spanking clean (and keeping the room warm the days we returned late as the weather was quite cool a few days) and servicing our requests expeditiously with a smile. The room had ample wardrobes (a few more drawers would be nice though), a small tea stand with an electric kettle and a teapot, and a coffee maker. Overall, our experience was fantastic.

Just returned from our first trip in 2025, and we decided to stay at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. Always loved it and always will. Even that this hotel is huge it still does not fall short when it comes to personalised service. Arrived via Uber on a Saturday, we were greeted and our luggage disappeared and only got back when we arrived in our rooms. Check in was smooth, rooms were ready on time and the view, I can only recommend, choose the one looking over the harbour, always breath taking and this is Hong Kong for me, watching the sun set and all the lights come to life. This time I brought the family with me, everyone loved it. The rooms, the view, the friendliness of all team members. We made reservations in some of the restaurants at the Grand Hyatt, there are so many and so much to choose from, but none of the visits felt short on amazing experience. Steak and Seafood, Buffet or a la carte at the Grand Cafe or the legendary Italian restaurant Grissini, the Lady who took care of us was just the best and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Really loved it. There is so much more we experienced: The team at the Grand Club, so hard working and always trying to accommodate all the requests, what a variety in the evening, breakfast always fresh, always happy to assist. The pool, we loved it. Accommodating us to stay in the sun. Thank you. Housekeeping, every day discrete, never saw them but our rooms were spot on. It was an amazing start into 2025 and we couldn't have asked for more and got so much more than we expected. A big, big Thank you to everyone.

I am sure I have seen babies there though I don’t have one myself.
I believe lounge is open all day. Food hours are limited to afternoon and early evening. (And breakfast of course).
There are more places to choose from in the Hong Kong area.
