This hotel is right beside World Trade Center and is just few minutes away from Causeway Bay MTR. There is park and jogging path on the east side for those who want to take a rest and stroll at the park. The hotel overlooks the Victoria Harbour and is both ways very accessible to taxis and bus. The rooms and...

Pros - For business, this is a great location. With the right room the views are also amazing. The roof bar and restaurant do offer sweeping views and when I visited, was quite empty. The cocktails and the tenderloin that I had was great. I went back for afternoon tea because the Peninsula had a ridiculously long wait and o...

Location: Located near causeway MTR, shopping malls and overlooking at victoria harbour, Excelsior's location is an advantage. Everything seems within reach. Staff: Staff are generally friendly and accommodating. Breakfast: It has a limited range of breakfast. Not my fave but so so. What is good is that you can see the busy highway and the harbour from here. Room: The...

Recently stayed once again at the hotel, and found some areas disappointing. I won't go over the fact that this hotel is well located within the Causeway Bay area and is what I think is a good business hotel. What was disappointing on this past trip: 1) My room (1141) was newly renovated, and still smelled strongly of paint. It...

The Excelsior is very well placed for the HK Sevens rugby tournament. Situated in Cuseway Bay, it is easy to get to the metro station and then into Central. The hotel has five restaurants and the Dickens bar which was a great place to have a bar meal and watch rugby. Breakfast was plentiful and varied; great freshly cooked omelettes!...

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
