This staff goes beyond the call of duty surprising and delighting you with their attention to detail. At night there is lovely little extras by your bed, eye cream, lip balm,...

It was great to be back at our favourite hotel in Hong Kong and this time round, the service and attention rendered by the staff have exceeded our expectations. We were so delighted with our stay at our favourite harbour view room that we had room service every night to enjoy the scenery and our oasis.

The Mandarin Oriental in HK is a bit of an institution. My husband stays there on business a lot and we wanted to stay there on a couple day stop over in HK with the family. The hotel is surprisingly small (I at least always imagined it would be very large!) and boutiquey. We arrived quite late at night with...

Stayed here after a Thailand/Vietnam cruise from Singapore to HK The hotel and service were excellent, but after the wonderful visit at the St Regis in Singapore, we found the Manderin more like a big American hotel and impersonal as opposed to the warmth we experienced in Singapore. The personnel at the entrance stood around chatting, were not particularly helpful...

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
