For all practical reason, it is 5-star hotel (Jacuzzi, large by Hong Kong standards rooms, free handy phone and so on) located in the middle of working class neighborhood. I totally love this place. It is perfect if you plan to visit Macau (near to the terminal) and Temple Street.

We recently stayed at Hotel Madera and couldn't have been more pleased with our stay! Everything from the check-in to check-out process was smooth and easy. Stayed at the Madera Hong Kong for several nights last month. The location is great right next to a subway station. The service was good and efficient and the "Night Manager", Ian, was simply superb going out of his way to help on every possible matter to make our stay a very enjoyable one.

Was worried about the size of the room after reading the reviews however it was extremely large and spacious. Got upgraded to a king size bed from a double and had the most amazing stay for 3 nights. Good service, most cosy, comfortable and convenience hotel in Jordon Hong Kong. I stayed 4 days and 3 night with my husband, hotel room clean and not too small compare others hotel in Jordon area. If want to picking bone from an egg, is the pillow too soft.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
