Well, when I checked in, the receptionist asked me if i wanted a single or a double. Seemed like there was a choice of rooms. I asked for a double and he gave me one on second or third floor that was directly facing the expressway. The noise was so bad that there was no way to sleep. When I... More

Not impressed with this hotel at all. Yes, it is affordable compared to most hotels in Hong Kong, but the pictures they show of the room on bookings.com are very misleading. It states that it is a boutique hotel but there is nothing "boutique-y" about this hotel at all. I'd compare the quality with a motel as it does not... More

I'm a single female traveler and this was clean and had everything I needed - a couple of running machines, a laundromat, free wifi, an area to hang out in upstairs if waiting for flights etc, coffee and an apple for breakfast. The rooms are nice and modern and I was upgraded to a suite which was a great size... More

This hotel is a great option if you are looking for value in expensive HK. The location is excellent just few steps from SheungUan station and Central. There is a guests room providing coffee, tea, snacks etc.. everymorning till about 10.30 with magazines, computers.. The staff did his best to help with all we needed.

The Bauhinia is very conveniently located next to Sheung Wan MTR. Its just a few meters walking and you have access to the whole city. Walking to the Macau Ferry Terminal is also a bonus. In a leisurely 10 min stroll you will reach the IFC complex or Central. The hotel is clean, efficient and has good wifi. All a... More

Really excellent location - very easy to access from Central Station and fresh off the airport express. Tube stop opposite, walking distance to ferry piers, bar district etc. Very comfortable and large room with good sound proofing. The free coffee and fruit juice in the morning is an added bonus. Would highly recommend.

The best thing about The Bauhinia is its location - right in the centre of Hong Kong, a short walk from Central Station, the ferry ports and the HK Airport Express (where you can check your bags in and then spend the rest of your time still exploring HK!). It's also right next to the tramway system and Sheung Wan... More

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Was booked as i had a limited budget but found the hotel a nice place to stay. I was upgraded to one of their "suites" The room was a good size and both the bathroom and room were clean and comfortable. Considering the proximity to the street the room was quiet too. The lounge area... More

Stayed on business and can only say that I was disappointed from the start: entrance hidden up a side street, reception untidy, no porter and rooms worse than a budget hotel. Breakfast was a joke with packaged pastries, coffee and orange. We took breakfast at a cafe near work. Cheap toiletries that caused my skin to breakout. Area was good... More

Great location close to the central business district (Central) and where you can find good places to take the dinner and drink some cocktails (Soho and Lan Kwai Fong). Rooms not big but with different services available (TV, minibar, iron and ironing board, safe deposit box, laundry) and always clean. Friendly staff with good spoken English.

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
