If you're big on cleanliness and service, Sohotel is for you. As the other reviewers point out, the rooms are small. But not claustrophobic, because of the large windows and smart layout (especially the bathroom). Breakfast served hot to the room was a nice touch--beats stale buffet breakfasts any time.We appreciated the small touches, like the choice of different pillows...

I stayed for 3 nights. Location is excellent, breakfast is good, and room is very modern although quite small but hey its Hong Kong. Sherman at Guest Services in particular helped tremendously with local recommendations and the quality of the staff made my stay very enjoyable.

It is a cute little hotel and the staff are nice the location was good for me but the rooms are just too small, even by HK standards (I go to HK every month and have stayed in dozens of boutique hotels) - there was not enough floor space to put my suitcase on the ground and open it. For...

Sohotel is clean, centrally located, and charming. The staff is exceptional. The room is undeniably small, but it is super functional and well-equipped. The bed was comfortable, too. The breakfast, which consists of an egg, croissant with butter and jam, cereal, and coffee was great. The coffee was really good. I highly recommend this hotel for people who value customer...

I unfortunately only stayed for one night here on a brief layover, but was pleasantly surprised at the hotel. It is currently undergoing renovatioms, which the staff were quick to mention on arrival. The front desk staff were delightful and full of information and happy to assist in any way. The room was incredibly tiny, but we'll laided out with...

This hotel is a little gem. Although the hotel rooms are small to say the least and there is no bar or restaurant (breakfast served to you in your room) the reception staff and service is great. While we were there they were refurbishing some rooms but it didn't spoil our stay. It's a simple hotel with well fitted out...

There was a stale smell of cigarettes the entire time we were there. Despite telling staff of the issue, it was ignored. With two guys at the desk, one was helpful and the other, disbelieving... Flat beer in the minibar and to be fair, when we complained, a new one was brought to us but the whole experience was not...

We booked into the SoHotel because they offered great prices and were the perfect location for us to explore the old part of Hong Kong. We did not expect such a good quality hotel. We were upgraded to a bigger room for no extra charge because of renovations in parts of the hotel so we had a very spacious room....

I stayed for 3 nights and was very pleased with the clean rooms and great service. They are remodeling so I chose one of the newer rooms (for an upgrade fee), it was worth the few extra square meters. The hotelroom sizes are about average size (to me) for Eastern Asian. The in-room breakfast was a nice snack to get...

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
