Booked a budget stay in Hong Kong, the size of the rooms were the smallest I have ever stayed in. Barely enough place to move around, and place your luggage. Non-wroking fridge, TV with no English channels, not so welcoming front desk staff, no breakfast... leaves a lot to be desired. The only good part being proximity to the market...

First off I just want to say please don't be driven away from this budget hotel. It has its up and downs but for the most part its good value. I will tell both sides and you decide for yourself. OK bad first, this hotel is small compared to north american standards. Its the size of most people's closet. There...

So small yet so expensive - I mean, from an outsider of HK people, the price is quite high, compare to hotels in mainland China, even in Peking, Shanghai and Shenzhen. I doubt it is even cheaper to live in a hotel in Shenzhen and go to HK by train everyday, as long as your visa allows. However, there are...

This hotel is good for travelers who are on a tight budget. It is very near the subway station and every night the streets outside of this hotel is filled by night market vendors. There are 24/7 convenience stores few blocks away from the hotel in case you want to buy something and a lot of affordable restaurants where you...

Wing Swing Hotel may good for backpackers and budget travelers. The rooms are too small even the toilet and bath room. The hotel staff members are not professionals. The hotel is located not from from the subway train station and it is near from the night market.

With 570HK$ to get that kinda size of room, it was so terrible exp in life. There're other hotels tht cn give more value wth tht amount of price. It is more suitable to call it "hostel" rather than "hotel"

Rooms are small- think Harry Potter in closet. But if you are not the person who stays a long time in the room this may work. Good side of this hotel is location. Was able to get a high floor so had some sea view. For backpackers this may work. Btw. They offer free wifi a big plus.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
