If you like to stay in an absolute dump in a good location then this is the hotel for you. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Wifi was virtually non-existant - you had to sit in the lobby between 10 am to 1p.m to get connected - a time when everyone was out. Breakfast was awful. Staff were rude and...

We stayed here with my friend and her dad and had a great time. The room was fine, shower was alright. The location is great though, right down the street from Tiananmen square and the Forbidden City. There are a ton of places to eat nearby, if you want Chinese food or a taste of home (ie. McDonalds). I stayed...

This is not an American hotel, so don't expect a western level of service or bedding. We found King's Joy to be perfectly acceptable. We stayed here both at the beginning and the end of our trip. Both rooms were laid out the same and looked out at the hutong rooftops. When compared to other hotels we stayed in (some better,...

I stayed at this hotel in April as part of a group tour. There was no hot water for showers, housekeeping was poor, chipped cups in room. Check in was slow and the restaurant did not have two of the lunch choices I selected. I was locked out of my room on no less than 5 ocassions, which was very...

For $35 a night I was a bit concerned about the hotel quality as I was burned in the past in other countries. To my pleasant surprise, the hotel was pretty much what I expected. Rather basic, but clean and in location you can't beat. Frankly, after walking around I couldn't find anything better. My only disappointment is the lack...

We had a deluxe room booked by the travel agency. The room was large with Chinese décor. There was one English speaking TV program - the fridge was the best little fridge we had come across in Asia. Service was minimal, ie. no bell boys for luggage, but after all, this is more of a hostel catering for the younger...

Located a 10-minute walk from Qianmen station, the King's Joy is an average Chinese hotel. The rooms are normal-sized with electronic locks. The room and bathroom were both clean. At night there is not much to do even on Dashilan, but the hutongs were an interesting walk, as well as the Qianmen pedestrian street a few blocks away. We had...

Stayed at this hotel as part of a group tour. The location of this hotel is within walking distance of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Public transit is very cheap and accessible (1-2 RMB), the subway station is about a 5 minute walk away from the hotel. The rooms are small and a bit dated but more than adequate...

This hotel is very very basic budget hotel. The rooms are ok, they are quite old and not terribly clean (there was hair on the ground from a previous customer). Location is great, only a few minutes walk from QianMen station and equally as close to the Forbidden City and TianMen Square. Advantages: -Affordable -Great location: close to subway and...

I enjoyed my stay at the Kings Joy Hotel in Qianmen. I loved the area, so much to see and do, and it was very convenient to get around Beijing. For the price, the standard room was very good value. It was relatively spacious and clean. I had no issues with hot water at all and found the reception staff...
