After a few ordinary hotels in China, this one is getting better. If it was in the US, I would give it a 3. Of the average rated hotels we have stayed in China, this one is the best so I went for 4. Things I take for granted in Western hotels are suddenly a plus: Towels were clean and... More

I stayed here in May 2015 prior and after a hiking trip along the great wall. The hotel has some history but not much of the charm that goes with it as most rooms in new building. room was ok and clean with minibar. However air conditioning could not be temperature adjusted only re strength of fan - while outside... More

We stayed at the Dongfang Hotel at the beginning of May 2015, its a perfectly good hotel in Beijing. we had breakfast which was varied with both western and Chinese on offer. Most Chinese beds are very hard these were better than most. If you are just in town to visit the Great Wall maybe somewhere the other side of... More

The rooms are smelling very strange and you will never be able to get a normal temperature. The heater has 3 grades and on 1 the room was boiling. When I arrived the checkin was way to long so I decided to have a beer in the lobby. Surprise, after I received the beer got a bill of 6,5€. The... More

We stayed here as part of the 2014 Great Wall marathon package, our room was floor 14 in the tower, nonsmoking and clean, other guests however did complain that their room smelled of old cigarette smoke. The staff we found to be exactly as described in other reviews...in need of urgent customer service training, but otherwise ok. The only real... More

This hotel is nice and clean. The buffet breakfast is decent. The rooms are nice and the shower is fantastic. But there is no wifi available in the rooms, only in the coffee shop on the 1st floor. the coffee shop is also a massive rip off, $6 for tea bag tea. The location is crap, it's not close to... More

Stayed here as part of a tour group, nice rooms, although the beds are very hard (this seemed to be a common thing across the hotels we stayed at in China). Breakfast had a huge range of offerings, kiwi juice was lovely! Nice bar area with a lovely little outdoor area. Wifi in the coffee lounge area only. We had... More

We were a group of four ladies and we spent four nights at this hotel at the beginning of our holiday. Hotel was clean, and staff friendly. Room and beds were comfortable, breakfast was buffet style so there was something to suit all tastes. The bar area was comfortable, but service was slow and drinks were expensive for the measure... Nice hotel, although expensive breakfast and only free Wifi in the expensive coffee bar. Biggest problem was customer unfriendly mentality. After the daily cleaning of the room, I noticed that a bag of (inexpensive) stuff was missing from the bathroom (comb, brush, some body cream, small bottle of perfume). Instead of helping me or giving me some sort of compensation... More

The hotel is dated, but has a certain charm to it. The room was very average for China standards, the furniture was a bit run down and the bathroom was pretty small. As far as location goes, it is not close to the metro, so we spent a lot of time taking the bus and transferring to another bus or... More
