Stayed here for two nights on business trip. The hotel is very clean, a bit outside the city centre, but only 20-25 minutes away by car, depending on the constant heavy traffic of Beijing. The reception or staff altogether is not so efficient, they don't speak any English really, don't expect to receive any proper invoices on your company name,...

The Diaoyutai Hotel is precisely what one would expect as a state run hotel. Solid service, solid but not terribly exciting rooms, right next to the main government guest house (where visiting dignitaries or their staff stay). The location (for me) was not terribly convenient as a tourist, though the park next door was a lovely way to walk off...

Because of the nature of my work have been honored to stay at the Diaoyutai State Guest House many times. It is the most outstanding lodging experience in Beijing. The Diaoyutai Hotel is also owned by the government and is run by the same people who manage the Diaoyutai State Guest House. This Diaoyutai Hotel is an elegant experience that...

The Diaoyutai Hotel is technically part of China's State Guesthouse, where foreign dignitaries are hosted. However, the hotel was opened to the public a few years ago, and now anyone can book a room. It's not listed on most hotel booking websites or in the systems used by U.S. travel agents. I booked my room through the Chinese travel website...

Most of the people dont speak english which makes things a bit more complicated, but nevertheless i did not have any...

Only open to foreign dignatories this is a fascinating enclave of properties in beautiful gardens. Owned by the Communist Party, it is a little out of the way but you will have an interesting time if you are invited. I would rather be in a smart hotel in the centre - this feels slightly intimidating. So if you don't get...

This is a series of villas on a military base where the Chinese government would host world leaders and their entourages. The grounds are immense and lovely. Rooms range from oppulent suites to something above a barracks for staff. Each villa of some 15 different quality sleeping rooms has a banquet facility. Meal choices are western or Asian and both...
