This hotel was amazing! It is situated in the Hutongs or back alleys of Beijing. There is such an authentic and cozy feel to this hotel. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great. The room was a little smaller than I had expected, but fine for our 3 day stay. The bathroom was very nice with...

Located on a quiet residential hutong about 4km from the north gate of the Forbidden City, this hotel is hard to beat for atmosphere and location. (It's also 1km from the subway and 2km from the Houhai bars, very convenient.) The front desk staff speak English and helped us book tickets for an acrobatics show. The chef serves a complimentary...

Turn off the main road into the narrow streets of the Hutong district and you might be a bit concerned about the area - don't be, as you soon arrive at an oasis which is the Shadow Art Hotel. A friendly welcome from the staff and we quickly realise this boutique hotel provides first class accomodation. There are plenty of...

Walking to the hotel, located within the Hutongs, we weren't sure what we were going to find. It took us what felt like ages to walk down these narrow streets, but we were pleasantly surprised. If you're looking for a more authentic chinese experience, this is a brilliant place to stay. You're located within normal Beijing life, the people that...

Getting to the hotel was an experience in itself! First impressions were not favourable, but as the saying goes...never judge a book by its cover. The staff at the hotel were very good, they were always willing to help with any problem or enquiry. Rooms were more than adequate for our needs and the meals provided were very good.

We have just left this hotel and unfortunately I found our stay slightly different to the reviews on here. The main thing that let this hotel down was cleanliness I did not find the hotel very clean especially our room. There were a lot of hairs on the floor in our room which I asked to be cleaned again however...

Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. The bicycles, offered for free by the hotel, were a bit small for us but turned out to be very useful as the city was totally packed with cars due to holiday season. The Forbidden City is only 20 minutes by bike and also really great to cycle around the lake. The...

If you like to experience the traditional Beijing. Small, but clean and comfortable room, nice bathroom. Complimentary water every day and good variety breakfast. An easy walk to the subway for access to "everything" - the subway is easily understood also for Firsttimers like us. Also short distance to sights like the Drum and Bell tower, and nice restaurants like...

This hotel was definitely one of my favorite hotels I have been in. It offers a unique experience for its guest and it very accommodating. It is quite challenging to find at first because it is located in a traditional hutong but once you find it, it is definitely a hidden gem. It is close to the subway line, the...
